2007 10th REGION TOURNAMENT
Montgomery County defeated George Rogers Clark 4-0 in the championship game to advance to the KHSAA State Tournament at Skyview Park in Jeffersontown. Montgomery County was playing in the championship game for the sixth time in the past seven years and won their third regional title.

WALLACE TO CONTINUE CAREER AT LIMESTONE COLLEGE
Former George Rogers Clark standout pitcher Emily Wallace will continue her softball career at Limestone College, a Division II school in South Carolina. Emily had an outstanding career at George Rogers Clark. She led the Cardinals to the 2006 10th region championship and holds most, if not all of the pitching records at George Rogers Clark. She was named second team All State in 2006 and first team All State in 2007. She was a member of the KY Prep Softball All Star teams in 2006 and 2007, and was a member of the KY All Star team that competed against Tennessee in the KY/TN All Star games on June 30, 2007. Best of luck in the future Emily!
CHEUVRONT & CHEUVRONT TO CONTINUE SOFTBALL CAREERS IN COLLEGE
Two George Rogers Clark softball players have signed to play softball in college. Center fielder, Haley Cheuvront has signed to play for Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, KY. Second baseman, Megan Cheuvront has signed to play for St. Catharine College near Spingfield, KY. Both had outstanding careers at GRC and we wish them the best of luck in college!

WALLACE BREAKS GRC STRIKEOUT RECORD
Emily Wallace of George Rogers Clark broke the school record for most strikeouts in a seven inning game by striking out 19 Powell County hitters in the Applebee's Lady Indian Classic at Tommy Reffitt Field in Mt. Sterling on May 14, 2004. She also had two assists making her responsible for all 21 outs. The previous mark of 17 strikeouts was set by Lori Bayless on June 9, 2000 against Middlesboro.

GARRISON BREAKS STATE HOME RUN RECORD
Montgomery County first baseman Paige Garrison broke the KHSAA state record for most home runs in a game by hitting three out against Powell County on April 1, 2004. There had never been a ball hit out of Powell County's park in Stanton until Garrison blasted three in four at bats. According to KHSAA state records, the old mark of two in a game had been accomplished 14 times. Garrison also tied the state record for most home runs in consecutive at bats with two.
