District Meeting April 7th in Grayson City Hall at 2:00.
Well opening day is upon us and I know that your leagues have been busy getting all those last minute things lined out. Well here’s another item to add to your list. Our next district meeting will be April 7th at 2:00 in the Grayson City Hall. This is an important meeting as we start the 2013 season to iron out any last minute questions and make sure that if you have any questions about eligibility or if you need to interleague or have a combine league team form signed and submitted. Here are just a few of the items that we will discuss:
- ASAP – If you plan on hosting a tournament game this year, you must have an approved plan.
- Interleague Forms – In most cases each league has enough teams to make the season fun for all the teams. However, in some cases we need to play games with other leagues because our numbers are down. At this meeting we will fill out the forms, have the presidents sign them and I will forward them on to the regional office.
- Do we need to have a Combined Team – Do we have leagues that would like to combine a few teams because the numbers are down? In some cases this is useful for the Junior and Senior Leagues as neighboring leagues can combine their numbers and form a team or two. If you think that you would be interested in combining with another league, get with them and come prepared to discuss it after the meeting.
- The new Tournament Player Verification form – This year Little League has created a new form that will follow a player his or her entire tournament eligibility life. This form will be filled out the first year a child is selected for an All-Star team and will document their residency, birth record and league information. Once the form is completed and copies of the aforementioned proofs are attached, the form will be signed by the Parent, League President and the reviewing District Administrator. After that the child, as long as their residency remains the same, needs only to have the form with the attached documents for future All-Star teams.
