Current News:
June 17th::
Well, the spring season is officially over. The soccer fields are empty and quite. No more cheering the big defensive stop, the great save, the awesome shot. Tryouts are done, meetings have been had, loose ends tidied up. All that is left to do is to sit back, relax and watch the girls play high school soccer. Good Luck ladies!
Memorial Day Weekend:
Off to the Windy City and the NSR Midwest Cup. Once again the tournament provided a challenge for our girls. Excellent competition provided good games all weekend. The ladies in Orange played well and made it to the finals. In the championship game the Ladies in Orange dominated the game in time of possession and in shots on goal. Unfortuneatley, none of the shots resulted in a goal. Regulation ended with the score tied 0 - 0. (This after we had a goal called back on a dubious "Cleats up toward the keeper" call. Don't get me started.....). The overtime period ended with the score still knotted at 0 - 0. PK's here we come! After the first round of 5, the PK's were knotted at 3 - 3 and we headed into sudden death PK's. On the eigth kicker, it was over, and we ended up on the wrong side of a 1 - 0 loss.
May 17th:
The Kolping Premier team rolled into the Kolping tournament with most of the team healthy once again. And roll they did - outscoring their opponents by 14 -1 and taking the Championship in the U15 division.
April 25th:
The walking wounded rolled into Memphis with 12 players healthy enough to take the field. The weekend proved to be quite interesting as we toured Graceland, endured a flat tire in one of the vans (Big Bertha) carrying half the team to a game, (nothing gets a coach's heart pumping like hearing that half the team in in a van sitting on the side of a highway) and ate lots of barbeque.
The ladies in Orange also played some great soccer, losing only to a state cup finalist from Missippi in the Prelims(0-1) and a state cup finalist from Tennesse in the Semi-finals(0-1).
March 28th:
Finishing strong, the ladies in orange put away the Wolfpack 2-0 in their last game of this tournament. Finishing 2-1 for the tournament but not advancing to the finals.
March 28th:
The CFA Tournament is underway. After the first day, the ladies in orange are 1-1.
