ASA Tourney Win
Welcome to the home of Knocks Softball! In it's 2nd year as a team, Knocks has been able to prove that they are a force to be reckoned with. In May, they competed in a Southern Softball Association of America (SSAA) tournament at Ironbridge Park in Chesterfield, VA. After fighting their way through some tough games, they came out on top with a first place victory. A few weeks later, they competed in an Softball Nation Association (SNA) tournament at Glen Allen Sports Complex where they finished 4th.

Memorial Day weekend, Knocks competed for the 2nd time in the SNA Mizuno Beast of the East tournament. Last year, they finished in 24th. This year they lost their first game on Sunday morning after finishing 3rd in their bracket on Saturday. This pushed them into the losers bracket early, forcing them to have to play almost non-stop to stay in the tournament. After defeating Fantasy Design in the next game, they were moved to Pole Green Park where they played three consecutive games that night. In those three games, they scored nearly 60 runs and advanced to Monday, the final day of the tournament. First thing Monday morning, battling the fog, they played the Mustangs who they defeated by more than 20 runs. After about a 45 minute break, their next game was a little more difficult, facing Carolina Softball. They were down most of the game, feeling very tired from the night before. Late in the 5th inning with 2 men on base, Lee Levine came through with a LONG homerun to tie the game. After going into extra innings, Knocks came out on top advancing to the next game to face the very strong, and well rested Power Alley Softball. After battling the heat and their fatigue from clawing back up from the loser's bracket, Knocks was not able to defeat Power Alley and ended up in a 2 way tie for 7th out of a 42 team field.

All while competing in these tournaments, they have been able to maintain the top spot in their division for their Wednesday night Men's League at Poor Farm Park, defeating all of the teams in the upper division at least once, and most of them in both games.

In most recent Knocks news, the guys competed in an ASA State Qualifier Tournament on July 15, 2006 and won with a 4 & 1 record. Harvey Brannan was awarded the MVP trophy. From here, the guys qualify for the ASA E State Tournament on July 29, 2006.
