Katy National Little League: Registration

Saturday, October 24

Welcome to the Katy National Little League website. Here you will find all the information you need to register your children for Little League baseball.

You'll see a few different things for this coming Spring 2010 season. First and foremost we have modified our registration fees to what we feel is the lowest possible cost. These are some of the lowest Spring registration fees in our entire District. And, you will not need to sell candy or raffles tickets or anything. Just sign up and play. Registration fees include uniforms: Jersey, Pants and Caps. Plus Belts and Socks for the kid pitch divisions.

Online Registration is now open and remain open until the beginning of the season. We've done this in an effort to give you more flexibility with your finances.

We are also encouraging you to sign up online. This Spring we are only offerring two dates for walk up registration. As always folks can register at the field on the day of tryouts.

For the newest members to our Little League family, T-Ball players ages 4 & 5, the registration fee will only be $40.00 per child. That's $40.00 to play 12-14 games and a uniform consisting of Jersey, Pants and a Cap. An excellent deal in our current economy.

Registration Fees gradually increase with each division:

Rookie 6 - $50.00

Rookie 7 and PW8 - $75.00

All Kid Pitch Divisions - That's Minors, Majors, Juniors and Seniors will be $125.00

Due to the restructured fee schedule we will no longer offer sibling discounts. The fee is per player.

Walk up Registration Dates are Jan 16th, 2010 and Jan 21st, 2010 at Crosspoint Church located at Westgreen and Kingsland.

Tryouts will be held for divisions PW8 - Seniors on Jan 30th and Feb 6th

Our Spring 2010 Opening Day will be March 27th.

                                           Division Specific Notes

T-Ball: Little League International, the governing body of for all local Little Leagues now allows 4 year olds to register for Little League.  Local Little Leagues are not required to accept registrations for 4 year olds. Katy National has decided to accept 4 year olds. They must meet the age requirement as of April 30th and must reside within Katy National borders. There will be no acceptions to this requirement.

PW8: Beginning with this Fall KNLL stopped providing umpires for this division. We will contiune that policy in the Spring. All Little League divisions below Majors are considered instructional leagues in one form or another. The PW8 division is a transitional division in that those players are one step removed from the kid pitch levels. We feel that providing umpires and maintaining standings for this division creates an overly competitive environment that is not appropriate for this age group. However, we do recognize that the players, parents and coaches need to begin to understand the dynamics of the tryout and draft that they we have when they move to the next level. With that in mind we will maintain tryouts and a draft for this division and the policies that go with them.

Seniors: Enrolling Seniors in our League has always been a challenge. The high school baseball regular season generally ends around the first week of May. Knowing that most players don't sign up. We want high school players to come play in our League. Since most League only have one or two Senior teams they interleague with othe Little Leagues. Due to the high school schedules the Senior division typically starts a week or so after everyone else. Little League does allow Leagues to add teams later in the season. In fact some Leagues already do that. They create new teams at the end of April and add them to the schedule. Doing this affords players the opportunity to keep playing after HS ball ends. It also provides an opportunity to play post season ball. This past 2009 season the Senior team from West University Little League, right here in our District, won the Senior League World Championship. That team consisted mostly of High School ball players. If you have an interest in signing up with Katy National but would not be able to play until HS ball is over please contact our Senior division Player Agent so we can maintain a count of players and plan teams.

All Kid Pitch Divisions: Beginning with the 2010 Spring season KNLL will now provide two umpires for each kid pitch game.

More information will follow as we get closer to the season. If you have any questions please find the appropriate Player Agent listed on our Board of Directors page and send them an email.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Fields and having a great Spring season.

Thank You,

KNLL Board of Directors
