PLAYING FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!

The Kettle Moraine Girls' Basketball Club, official feeder program of the KM varsity girls basketball team, is designed to provide girls in Grades 4 through 8 with an opportunity to participate in a basketball program for girls that have a higher level of skill and are looking for a higher level of competition. The program is open to any girl in the KM district in Grades 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 during the basketball season.

CLUB NEWS

The Kettle Moraine Girls Basketball Club Board met on Monday, February 24th and Monday, March 3rd to discuss a plan for creating a stronger club for the future and filling current open board positions.  The Board has made the following changes to our structure to better address the future needs of the KMGBC.  As a reminder, the deadline for applications for the open positions is this coming Friday, March 21st.  We encourage anyone interested to please apply.

The positions of President & Vice President of the Club are being eliminated and will be replaced by the position of Program Director.  This position will oversee all aspects of the club and provide leadership and direction for the growth and success of our club.  The Board feels this change will create more unified authority for the entire board.  The Board is waiving the by-law requirement that this person must serve on the board for one year, this position is open to our entire basketball community in an effort to find the right person to lead this club forward.

The position of Non Parent at large Board Member will be open April 1, 2014 as Dave Lombardi has made the decision to retire from the board.  This position will be changed to Parent Liaison, and can be a parent or non-parent community member.  This is a voting position on the board.  The Parent Liaison will serve as the primary contact between club parents and the board for issues, concerns, comments. The Parent Liaison will also oversee uniforms, spirit wear and work with the club activities coordinators for youth night, ice cream social and the end of the year club banquet.

Our current Coach Director, Steve Goetsch will be stepping down due to his current teaching and JV Coaching commitments.  The position of Coaching Director will be combined with the Tryout Coordinator responsibilities.  This is a voting position on the board and a paid position.

Detailed descriptions of all open board positions can be found in the attached document for your reference.  Applications for any of the mentioned board positions can be completed and returned to Kelly Donaldson in our Community Education Office by March 21th, 2014.  The Board will review all applications, conduct interviews of the most qualified candidates and as a Board, will vote based on the applications received and interviewed to fill each position.  Our Goal will be to have these positions filled by April 1, 2014, or shortly after if more time is needed to conduct all interviews.

Thank you for your continued support,

The KMGBC Board
