CODE OF ETHICS 0 0 none
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION APPLIES TO ALL LEVELS COACHES CODE OF ETHICS Kettering Largo Mitchellville Boys and Girls Club program has adopted the following Coaches Code of Ethics. Each Coach at all levels will: Place the emotional and physical well being of the players ahead of any personal desire to win. Remember to treat each player as an individual, remembering the large spread of emotional and physical development for the same age group. Promise to review and practice the necessary first aid principles needed to treat injuries of my players. Do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all the players. Lead, by examples, in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all the players. Ensure that each player learns the rules and fundamentals of the game. Use those coaching techniques appropriate for each of the skills. Remember that they are coaching youth, and that the game is for children and not adults.
PARENT/SPECTATOR BEHAVIOR 0 0 none
PARENTS AND SPECTATOR BEHAVIOR AT GAMES It is imperative, today, for coaches to deal with the behavior of parents and other spectators who attend practices and scheduled games. With the continued growth of sports in our area and the increased involvement of parents and spectators in sports activities, many new problems have confronted the coach. To assist the many beginning and experienced coaches who are facing this new dilemma, KLMBGC adopted the following rules of behavior to provide a more cooperative and a positive experience between coach, parent, spectator and player. Parents and spectators are encouraged to relieve the pressure of competition by stressing the importance of having fun. Players should not be pressured by excessive excitement or tension on behalf of the parent and spectator. Coaches will emphasize their leadership role while performing their function on the court. Parents and spectators are reminded that they are not to question any decision of the coach or from any of the referees while the team is on the playing court or field. Excessive screaming or directing inflammatory remarks to coaches, players or referees is strictly prohibited. Only cheering of a positive nature should be encouraged. Under no circumstances will a parent or spectator be allowed to enter upon the playing area during active play. Parents and spectators are to avoid conflicts with parents or other spectators from the opposing team. A designated area for each team will be specified prior to the game. Every effort will be made to separate these areas as far apart as possible. Good sportsmanship is always encouraged. Parents and spectators should be gracious winners and good losers. Every game will conclude with each player shaking hands.Coordinators of KLMGBC programs feel the above rules of behavior should improve the coach-parent-player relationship. However, if a parent or spectator continually disobeys the established rules and regulations, the following solutions will be applied. Removal of the parents' son or daughter from the game. Removal of parent or spectator from the game.No player will be allowed to participate in the baseball program if his/her parent cannot abide by the rules and regulations governing the athletic game. It is better to sacrifice one player whose parent doesn't follow the rules than to jeopardize the established standards. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our programs, please contact the Sport Commissioner.
