Welcome to the home of Charlotte Kings Baseball! After 18 years of dominating Charlotte's adult baseball league, Kings will neither defend our 2006 league title nor participate in the summer league in 2007. Since 1989 Kings has won 15 of 18 summer league titles; 3 Roy Hobbs World titles; 5 fall league titles; and 10 of 15 Eastern USA championships. An announcement is pending as to whether or not Kings will field a tournament team for the upcoming 2007 season. If you're interested in being considered for either an Open or Veteran team, please send an email response to this site. Kings baseball was originated in 1989 by Bill Clary and is based in Charlotte, NC. The Kings are affiliated with Roy Hobbs Baseball and have participated in both the Open and Veteran divisions at the Roy Hobbs World Series (RHWS) in Fort Myers, FL since 1991. The Kings were a member of the MSBL in 1989-1990. In 1992, 2003 and most recently in 2005 Kings won RHWS championships in the AAAA Open division. Also in 2003 and 2005, AAA titles were added in the Veteran division. TEAM RECORDS 1997-2005: Located on the "Message Board" page. Updates will take place (if applicable) once the stats for 1989-1996 are recovered.
Kings out of CABL! Kings announced this week that we will not be dominating the CABL again this year. Why? Because we're not participating. Call it what you will...but after 18 years of league domination where 15 of those turned into Kings titles, Kings and league officials agreed to disagree and year #19 won't happen. The team still holds hope of fielding a Kings tourney team. Such a team would participate in various regional and national tournaments only. If you have an interest in being considered please email us with your interest. Thanks.
Kings continues CABL tourney domination...wins title!
In those 4 games Kings beat the Giants 8-0, Knights 9-1, Rangers 9-3 and the Knights again 12-6. That's a combined score of 38-10!! Last night Charlie Pflum threw well and the weary Knights had no answer. Offensively, Steve Mitrovich (3 hits, 2 doubles, 3 RBI's) and Mike Chmura (HR, 3 hits, 5 runs and 5 RBI's) paced the Kings attack. Kings finishes 2006 (regular season) at 21-9. The Kings Vets still have the RHWS on Oct. 29th thru Nov. 5th. Time for another title! |
