2012 KF Summer League!
The Kingfish Water Polo's 2012 Summer Outdoor League is just around the corner!
Registration is now open and athletes must sign up before June 1st so we can determine teams and release the schedule to you well in advance of the first date. The league will begin the week of June 12th with competition taking place at Schlegel Park, Green Valley Country Club and Wilshire Pool. Wilson High School will serve as the backup location for inclement weather.

This is one of the largest outdoor summer league programs outside of California and has been helping the development of the Berks County athletes for decades. Kingfish athletes have been able to participate in this well-structured league at no additional cost beyond their yearly Kingfish participation fee. The cost of this club membership fee remains at $70/athlete ($40 for athletes who are current AWP members). Those athletes who have paid this fee during the spring are automatically registered at no additional costs. Those athletes who have not paid the 2012 Kingfish participation fee must do so prior to registering for the summer league.

The divisions are broken down by grade levels as of the Fall 2012. The open division is for master, collegiate and select high school athletes. There may also be additional opportunities for high school athletes to also play with/against these more experienced players to improve skills. The number of athletes registered in Divisions I-III will determine if competition is offered by gender or coed, and the number of teams and the number of games a team plays in an evening. Here are the divisions being offered this summer:
Division I (Grades 3 & 4)
Division II (Grades 5 & 6)

Kingfish Alumni news- Ruth to Co- Captain Princeton Polo

PRINCETON (1/4/12) -- Rising men's water polo seniors Jack Ruthand Billy Tifft have been named team co-captains for the 2012 season. The pair will lead a group of 23 returning players as the Tigers will look to repeat as Eastern champions.

"I am very happy for Billy and Jack," said Princeton Head Coach Luis Nicolao. "I am sure they will be great leaders in and out of the pool, we are all looking forward to a promising 2012 season."

Tifft and Ruth are among five current juniors on the team that will be seniors during the 2012 season. Tifft, primarily a defender, has played in 87 games and has 25 career goals and 20 assists. Ruth has played in 81 games and has 27 collegiate goals, 25 steals and 31 drawn ejections.

The 2011 Tigers won Princeton's fourth Eastern Championship and finished third at the NCAA Championships for the second time in the last three seasons. Princeton finished the year 22-10 overall and won the Eastern title after falling in the Southern Championship game.

We hope to make alumni news available as we hear about accomplishments of our alumni in and out of the pool.

The 501 (c) (3) designation will make us more attractive for both Business and Personal donations.
We are allowed apply for grants from various government programs
We are able to apply to other 501 (c) (3) Organizations and Foundations for grants

How does it effect you individually?
Kingfish will continue to operate as it has for the past 14 years. If the opportunities above avail themselves, we will look to grow the program, and our offerings, commensurate with the level of support received.
A portion of you Kingfish Membership will be Tax Deductible (may be as much as $35.00). Stay tuned for further details and clarification.
Many of you have been very generous this season, and will eventually be receiving a letter documenting your generosity as proof for your Tax Return. I need to make a few slight changes to our accounting program and ask for you patience in regards to receiving the Thank you letters. Our status as a 501 (c) (3) is retroactive back to January 1 of this year, so all of your donations are deductible.
If you have not had an opportunity to donate to the foundation, now is the perfect time. I would like to thank everyone for their continued support and also take time to thank our many volunteers. We're off to another great start this year (although we have been indoors more than we would like - thank goodness we have the option), and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. If anyone has any questions or any suggestions on how to take further advantage of our exciting new status, please contact me at 610-670-4743.
