Carrie Soholt's sophomore season has been marked by tremendous consistency all season. She's learned to pick her battles, racing hard some races, cruising others. The Clovis Invitational was a "target" race of sorts, and by the time the 3.1 miles had elapsed, she had hit the bullseye. Racing in the competitive "Championship" race, she purred along in about 10th place by the mile, before moving to the leaders at half way. Going by 2 miles she was side by side with three other talented harriers. The final mile would see three runners get a way by a bit, but she held on to finish fourth overall in the race and average 5:52 per mile over the distance, clocking 18:10 for the full 5K, a converted three mile time of 17:36
