Peppers Quarterfinal
Game 8: Championship Sunday was nearly a long road home when the Texas Peppers jumped out in front of the Bees 3-0 in the first inning. The Bees didn't get their scoring started until Brigette Del Ponte hit a solo blast over the left field fence in the top of the third. Paula Liebler was the starting pitcher, but was lifted in the third for Dallas Escobedo. The Bees struggled at the plate until the sixth inning when Shelby Fisher drew a lead off walk. With one out, Sierra Rodriguez hit a hot chile pepper back to the pitcher disabling her for the rest of the game. The Bees scored three runs in the inning taking the lead after Annie Lockwood drew a walk to load the bases and consecutive singles by Dallas Escobedo and Becca Tikey tied the game. Terah Blackwell hit a sacrifice fly into right field scoring Annie who had a close play at the plate. This proved to be enough to hold the Peppers off, with Dallas striking out 13 of 15 faced in the game.
