Killer Bees make it to the Championship game at ASA 16U Nationals
2nd place ribbon
The Killer Bees went undefeated throughout the week at ASA Nationals in Seattle, making it to Sunday as one of only two undefeated teams left in the tournament.  They faced OC Batbusters, last year's champions, and held them to only 2 runs.  Unfortunately, the Bees couldn't come up with any of their own, so they fell into the loser's bracket, where they faced George Xtreme.  The Bees came out on top in that game, 2-1, and had to face the Batbusters again in the Championship game.  The Batbusters came out with bats blazing and stung the Bees 11-0.

Congratulations, ladies!  The coaches and parents are very proud of what you accomplished this year.  Just making it to the Championship game at ASA Nationals is an awesome feat!  You played extremely well all year, ending up with a 95-7-1 record.  That is an outstanding record, and you should all take pride in what you achieved this year.

Best of luck to all of you in your softball careers!  You all are wonderful players and remarkable individuals.

1st place ribbon
The Killer Bees were undefeated in the TCS World Series in Park City, Utah.  They scored 63 runs and allowed only 5 runs in the 9 games played during the week-long tournament.  The defense was tough, led by the near-perfect pitching of Dallas & Sam; and offense never let up, with great hitting throughout the week, capped by 2 home runs in the championship game by Dallas & Laura, triples by Becca & Brigette, and Janna's double.  Terah was 2 for 2 in the championship game.  Brigette was named offensive MVP for the tournament.  Congratulations to all the Killer Bees players!  Let's take the momentum to Seattle!

Bees are Champions of CO Fireworks tournament
1st place ribbon
The Bees were undefeated in the 60-team CO Fireworks tournament in Aurora, Colorado.  They were 4-0 in pool play games & 5-0 in elimination play.  The championship game against Tulsa Shootout was called after a half inning due to weather, but the Bees had defeated the Tulsa team in the semi-final game and were declared the champions.  The semi-final game featured Dallas striking out 17 Tulsa batters in a 3-0 victory.  The Bees pitching was awesome all week & the defense allowed only 6 runs during the entire tournament.  Six of the nine games were shutouts.  Congratulations, ladies!  Take that teamwork to Park City and play hard!

Bees finish 2nd at ASA Fun (?) in the Sun tournament
2nd place ribbon
The Bees went 3-0 on Saturday to finish first in their pool, with wins over Team Arizona 18U (5-3), Motion DNA Blue 18U (10-3), and AZ Hotshots 16U (5-0). Sunday's games included wins over AZ Thunder 18U (2-1), Gold Rush 18U (2-1 in ITB), and AZ Storm 16U (2-0). With the temperature approaching 115 degrees and the winds blowing about 30 mph, the Bees faced Desert Thunder in the championship game. Both teams were affected by the oppressive heat, and the wind turned routine catches into doubles & triples. The Killer Bees led 7-5 late in the game, but Desert Thunder came back to tie the score at 7-7 and then scored a run in the top of the last inning. Bees got a runner on base in the bottom of the inning but couldn't bring her in. Both teams did a great job in this game and are to be commended for playing in such terrible conditions.

Bees come out on top at TCS Super January Championships
1st place ribbon
The Killer Bees had another successful weekend, going 6-0 to win the 18U TCS Super January Championship tournament. The Bees defeated Inferno, Storm-Sappington & Storm-Fisher on Saturday to finish first in their pool. The Bees scored 28 runs to their opponents' 1 run in the first two games on Sunday, but had to fight all the way in the championship game against Storm-Fisher.    Storm was ahead for 4 innings, but the Bees tied it up in the 5th, scored the winning run in the top of the 6th inning & held the Storm scoreless in the bottom of the 6th to win. A great way to end the fall/winter season & the Bees now have their berth to TCS Nationals in Park City. Best of luck to all during high school ball!!
