KHS Pioneers C-Team Players and Families,
This will be my last "official" message to the 2007-08 Kirkwood Pioneers C-Team. First, what a season!!! I have said it many times in the last few weeks, and it needs to be repeated! Back in early January, our record was 0-5-5. After our first victory (5 Jan 08) over Marquette, some very magical things happened to our team. In our last eight regular season games, our record was 6-1-1 for a season record of 6-6-6 with 18 points and good for 4th place! Highlights include two victories over WEBSTER!!! We then went into the playoffs, beat a good Vianney team 4-3, with the winning goal coming with one and one half minutes left in the game! Not to be outdone, we faced a tough team in Parkway South, and won in a shoot out!!!! Final score, 3-2. Finally, our game against Seckman last night. We took them to overtime, and believe me, the game easily could have gone our way! The final game had everything..........great offense, great and solid defense, and finally, spectacular goaltending!! Our final goal was scored by Brett Hill, assisted by Tom Bernhard and Dan Huckabee!
In your wildest dreams, considering our start to the season, did you ever think we would end up in the Championship Game? You could not have written a better story!! Be proud of yourself, your teammates, your team and finally KHS Hockey!!!!
In closing, I want to thank EVERYONE for your kind words and support over the season! It will be one that I will not soon forget!
Good Luck to the players this summer and in your future with KHS Pioneer Hockey. It's a great game with a great organization and yes, great people!!!
