RULES CHANGES:  The KGSA Board has made a few modifications to the rules of play for the following divisions in 2012:

              1.   Minor's Division (5th & 6th Grade): Teams will be required to bat their entire lineup throughout the whole game.  This means that all girls will continue to bat in their starting lineup spot even if they are not playing in the field.  Ex. If your daughter starts the game batting in the sixth position in the lineup, she will continue to bat in the sixth position for the entire game regardless if she is playing in the field.  This will also allow for free substitution in the field.  If your daughter comes out of the game, she doe not necessarily have to sit for the remainder of the game.  The coach will have the option of putting her back into the field during a later inning.

              2.   Junior's Division (3rd & 4th Grade):  The KGSA Board has had numerous discussions on the Junior's Division over the last couple of years.  We continue to believe that pitchers need to be developed at a younger age in order to promote better softball players and teams later on.  We also understand the frustrations with pace of play this may cause for non-pitchers.  We will continue to have pitching machine for the first two innings of each game.  We will also be incorporating pitcher/pitching machine combinations for the later innings.
