Meeting Minutes

Feb. 13, 2008

Meeting called to order: Feb 13th at 7:00 pm by Kurt Self Attendance for Board of Directors: Teri Lewellen, Jodi Kvinsland, Scott Russell, Deanna Russell, Greg VanOverbeke, Marty Price, Kurt Self, Bob Queenin, Monica Wulff, Shima Garrison, Glen George and Don WilcoxMembers:     Trish Price and Scott Lester

Non-Members:  Matt Michalke and Jason Norem

January Meeting Minutes:  Motion to pass the January Meeting Minutes made by Marty Price; 2nd by Teri Lewellen; motion passed.

 

Presidents Report:  Batting cages were discussed.

Treasurers Report: See report – expenses and income discussed.

 

Player Agent Report:  By Deanna Russell. 229 baseball players signed up. 47 Softball players signed up. Rosters sizes discussed and voted on for all divisions.

Fundraising Report:  Kurt Self reports he spoke with Phyllis Whittington and forms are mailed out and menu is set and they want to keep opening day breakfast at KPMS. End of season dinner discussed as well.

New Business: 

  • Field schedule for practice and games were discussed.
  • Field Marshall schedule discussed and will be emailed out.
  • Softball interleague was discussed. Motion by Marty Price to approve Minors Softball rules, 2nd Trish Price; motion passed.
  • Bob Queenin handed out batting line-up cards he got at San Bernadino.
  • T-shirt/sweatshirts/stadium blankets were discussed as fund raiser for league. Motion by Bob Queenin to order 20 stadium blankets to sell; 2nd Shima Garrison; motion passed- ½ will have baseball bats/ball logo, ½ will have KPLL and the logo.
  • Horseshoe Lake Field was discussed. Work party set for Feb 23rd to work on field. Scott Lester discussed doing a TnT Fireworks stand/tent as a fundraiser for KPLL. Don Wilcox will check into it.
  • Scorekeeping Training- Kyong cannot do it. Teri Lewellen will do it with Deanna Russell helping. March 26th
  • Parent Meeting- Trish Price and Becky Lester will organize. 
  • More productive means of advertising/marketing/website for KPLL was brought up by Don Wilcox. i.e. political signs, etc.
