KPLL Meeting Minutes - Dec 19th, 2007, at Key Center Fire Station 

Present: Board Members: Glen George, Deanna Russell, Teri Lewellen, Jodi Kvinsland, Bob Queenin, Don Wilcox, Marty Price, Andy Mattingly, Monica Wulff, Scott Russell, Shima Garrison. Members: Scott Lester, Trish Price, Penny Waldron.

 Meeting was called to order by Glen George at 7pm.

Motion was made by Andy Mattingly to approve amended November meeting minutes. 2nd by Marty Price. Motion passed. (amendment = Walston not Wilfong)

 

President Report: Glen George reported that we will know in late Feb or early March if we received the grant.

 

Player Agent Report: Deanna reported items will be discussed during Unfinished/New/Old Business.

 

Unfinished Business:

  • By laws and standing rules discussed. Motion by Marty Price to approve a Disciplinary Committee such that if issue may result in suspension then Committee is only investigative, otherwise they have authority to handle issues. 2nd by Andy Mattingly. Motion passed.

  • Motion by Andy Mattingly to grant Player Agent the authority to approve trades the night of the draft. 2nd by Marty Price. Motion passed. ----- Motion made by Andy Mattingly to form a Roster Committee (of 2 people plus the Player Agent). 2nd by Marty Price. Motion passed.

** committees must report any and all actions taken to the Board prior to the next Board Meeting **

  • Umpire Requirements were discussed. See attached. Andy Mattingly made motion to approve as amended. 2nd by Marty Price. Motion passed.
 

Treasurer Report: Report given by Teri Lewellen.

 

New Business:

  • Batting cages were discussed. Glen George presented potential plans.
  • Potential Manager/Coach list handed out (from Kurt) via Glen George. Discussion ensued. Only 44 players are signed up at this time. Marty Price made the motion to accept the list as “potential” managers pending number of teams, background checks, and number of players. Andy Mattingly 2nd. Motion passed.
  • Registration Jan 9th, from 6-7pm at Key Center Fire Station and Jan 12th, 10am-4pm at Volunteer Park concessions. Volunteers needed for both.
  • Manager/Coaching Training
    • set for Jan 13th with Elton for everybody.
    • And Minors’ division and below on Jan 26th.
    • Majors Division and above on Jan 26th with Pete Weighmiller (sp?) and six varsity players.
    • Jan 26th Softball training with Steve Ude.
  • Player’s Clinics Feb 9th with possibility of Managers/Coach’s running the training with Elton and Weighmiller supervising? Feb 2nd
  • Umpire clinic by Don Wilcox and Bob Queenin. March 15th District Umpire Clinic.
  • Scorekeeper Training March 26th with Deanna Russell and Kyong Bertsch.
  • Opening Day Photos April 12th with Action Photos Northwest, Robert Murphy.

 Marty Price Motioned to adjourn at 820pm. Trish Price 2nd. Motion passed.

Meeting adjourned at 820pm. Next Meeting: Jan 9th at Key Center Fire Station upstairs room at 7pm, with registration from 6-7pm.
