General Information
Welcome!
Welcome to the Kennworth Track and Field Club of Acworth/Kennesaw, Georgia. Our home training field is located at North Cobb High School off of old US 41 in Kennesaw.
Who We Are
The Kennworth Track and Field Club is for boys and girls, ages 5 - 18, who want to learn about Track and Field and have fun.
We believe that the athlete comes first! Our primary mission is to make sure that the athletes have fun, learn new lifelong skills, and learn how to constantly strive to improve. We also provide the opportunity to compete against other teams, and develop the basic and intermediate skills to advance into the next track and field and cross country levels of high school, college, and beyond.
Interested athletes do not have to have prior track and field (running, jumping, and throwing) experience in order to participate. The dedicated staff of coaches will teach beginners as well as continually develop the seasoned returning veterans on the team.
Affiliation/Competition
As a member of the North West Georgia Track League, and under affliliation of the United States Track and Field Association (USATF), we participate in numerous youth track and field events (track meets), primarly held in the spring and early summer timeframe, and compete with other similar teams in the league. At the end of the season, athletes may advance into area (multi-county), statewide: USATF Junior Olympics and Georgia Games, USATF Junior Olympics regional (multi-state), and USATF national competitive events such as the National Youth Championships, and USATF Junior Olympics. While competition can be exciting, our coaches believe that what is more important is to make sure that each athlete is properly trained and that over time, ensure there is constant improvement in performance and learning of critical healthy lifelong skills.
