Zephyrs Gold Finish 2nd at NAFA Nationals

The Zephyrs went undefeated until the winners bracket final loseing two very close, very exciting one run games to the eventual National Champion New Lennox Lightning Gold. The Championship game was a 9 inning thriller to decide the National championship.

The Zephyrs finished with an overall record of 6-2 in the tournament.

ASA Gold Regionals

Zephyrs Gold Finish 3rd at ASA Gold Regionals

The Zephyrs Gold went 3-2 in the double elimination ASA Gold Regional qualifier at Hidden Valley sports complex. The team won it's 1st 3 bracket games and found itself in the winners bracket final against the powerhouse St Louis Chaos Gold. The game was scoreless for 9 intense innings before the home team Chaos pushed across a single run in the bottom of the 9th for the win.

In the losers bracket final the Zephyrs once again found itself matched up with a familiar foe in the Omaha Quakes Gold. Another extra inning affair found the Zephyrs once again being denied a berth to Gold Nationals as the Z-gals lost 5-4 in 8 inning's.

What a great performance by this years young Zephyrs to finish 3rd out of the regions top 13 Gold teams. Now we go back to work for next year to see if the 3rd time is indeed a charm.
