KC LADY JAGS 2011 OPEN GYM & TRYOUTS          

All Juniors: Before you attend any tryouts you will need to register online. After September 1, Go to www.hoavb.org under "Hot Topics" to "Indiv Registration". If you played last year go under "Past HOA Member needing a Webpoint Username", do a find for your name and date of birth and logon. Update or add your information and pay your registration fee. Then print of your membership card and bring that to all open gyms and tryouts you attend. If you were not an HOA member last year, go under "Never been an HOA member" and follow the steps. If you do not get selected by a club, you can apply for a refund of your individual registration fee up till December 31.

Things You Should Know
Fees cover the following:  
   *uniforms 
      *5 Single day Tournaments  ...and/or 2 day tournaments... and/or a nat'l qualifier   
      *Gym rental 
     *Volleyball Equipment including balls/ carts/first aide

     *Administrative Cost 

     *Coaches Membership Fees

 

PRACTICE is twice a week for an hour and a half per team.   Except 10u, they will only practice on Mondays.

 

Practice Locations for the 2011-2012 season will be

 

SE COMMUNITY CTR (SECC) on Mondays and HILLCREST COMMUNITY CTR (HCCC) on Thursdays

 

teams ages 10u-15u will practice 6:00-7:30pm both days

teams ages 16u-18u will practice 7:30-9:00pm both days

 

MARK YOUR CALENDER

 

*Mandatory Parent/player meeting                             Thursday November 17 6:30-8:30 

 (paperwork will be completed, uniform fittings, meet your coaches and teammates, and much more)

*Minimum Deposit of $150.00(for teams 13-18) and minimum $50 deposit (for 10under team) due at meeting on the 17th. 

 

*First practice Monday November 21nd @ SECC

USA VOLLEYBALL JUNIOR OLYMPIC AGE DEFINITION 

 

For use during the 2011-2012 Season

Once a player participates (including but not limited to practicing, training, attending workouts and/or competing) in a club or varsity program for any university, college, community college, or junior college, he/she is ineligible to take part in any regional and national programming, which includes but is not limited to national JNC qualifying and championship events.

18 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1993

or

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1992 and a high school student in the twelfth (12th) grade or below during some part of the current academic year

17 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1994

16 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1995

15 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996

14 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1997

13 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1998

12 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1999

11 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 2000

10 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 2001

9 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 2002

8 and Under Division:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 2003

Boys 14 and Under Division:

Regionally waived boys teams in the 14 and under age group will be allowed to participate at the USA Junior National Championships using the following age/grade definition:

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1997

or

Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996 (15 years or younger) who shall neither have completed nor are in a grade higher than the eighth grade (8th) during the current academic year. (This exception is based on the net height difference of 7’4 1/8” to 7’ 11 5/8” between the 14 and Under Division to the 15 and Under Division.)

Note: These age definitions are used by domestic club programs and are NOT the same as the age definitions for the International and Domestic High Performance programs for 2012.

The classification cut-off date of the September 1 was reviewed by the USAV Youth/Junior Olympic Volleyball Division (YJOVD) prior to the USAV 2008 Annual Meetings and research justified the continuation of the cut-off date of September 1. Additional information can be found on the USA Volleyball Website.

The Age Definition Policy was most recently revised by the USA Volleyball Board of Directors on January 19, 2002.
