2010-2011 SEASON

Lady Jags want to congratulate our very own CHRISTINA PRATT #16 who signed to play at William Jewel College.  Christina attended Lincoln College Prep in KCMO where she played varsity for 3 yrs and earn 1st Team All-District 2008-09;Athlete of the yr for 2009-10; Athlete of the Week 2009-10Conference  She played 4 years with the Lady Jags as a MH/OH where was a leader and strong asset to the team.

Congratulations to our very own Laura Starks who just earned a postion on the pole vaulting team at Truman State University.  Laura played on season with the KC Lady Jags as a DS.  She attended St Mary's High School in Independence, MO where she has competed the last 4 years as a vaulter and maded it to State every year.  This year Laura finished 7th at State in the Class2A division.

"It was great having your bright smile and contigeous laughter on the team this season.  Your came in as a hard worker from start to finish and I loved working with you.  Wishing you the best in your future" Coach Gina

The KC LADY JAGS would like to congratulate Jessica Holder #11 on her early signing (11/17/2010) to play @ Missouri University of Science and Tech.  Jessica played two seasons for the Lady Jags as a setter/right hitter and was dynamic leader on the court.  She attended St Mary's High School in Independence, Mo where she played for three seasons and was a member of the conference champion team in 2008, 09, and 2010.  She was a two team first team all-conference setter and earned first team all-district and all-region accolades this past season. Holder was an honorable mention all-district setter in 2009. She played on the Missouri team as an outside hitter in the 2010 GKCVCA Mo-Kan All Star Game.

Per Coach Jason Holt @ MO S&T “Jessica is an outstanding athlete that is a dual threat on the court as both a powerful hitter and a great-touch setter,” Holt said. “She runs the floor well while setting, directing her offense to succeed, but also can step up and get kills on the right side with her strong arm swing.”

Best of Luck to you Jess on and off the Court.  We Love U

 Tryouts were completed this past Saturday for teams 10U - 14U.  Congrats to the players who accepted their offers (see Jags Roster page)

We still have openings on the 10U and two opening on the 14U.  If your interested please attend tryouts this saturday.

What your fees cover: Individual registration fees, tournament registration fees, gym rental, uniform (jersey, shorts), volleyball equipment, first aid items, administrative expenses including copies, mailings, office supplies, professional services. There are expenses to consider but the bulk of the fees go to the above mentioned items.  Lady Jags will also have team apparel available to the players, parents and fans to purchase once the season begins, these items are extra and it is not mandatory for the player to purchase the apparel.                                                                                             

AFTER TRYOUTS

Athletes will find out before they leave tryouts if they have been selected for a team or not.  If you are selected, you will have until Monday @ 4:00PM to call the designated number to accept or decline the offer.   If you do not call, the spot will automatically be offered to an alternate.

MANDATORY MEETING: 

Thursday, November 19, 2009 6:30-8:30PM Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 5901 E 135th St KCMO 64030

 All players and a parent must attend this meeting. PURPOSE: over view of club policies, paperwork will be completed, uniform fittings, meet your team, and coaches.   

What to bring to the meeting

-Calendars to mark down important dates to remember

-Your signed HOA Membership Form (this can be printed the same way you printed your tryout insurance form.)

-DEPOSIT         $50.00 for 10U                         

                    $125.00 deposit for teams 11-18 

Fees can be paid in full on this day or by they set due dates below.  All fees MUST be paid in full by Thursday January 7, 2010.

Palaamo Signs with CMU Volleyball

FAYETTE, Mo. - Kansas City native Fiafia Palaamo signed a letter of intent to play for the Central Methodist University volleyball team in the fall.
 

Palaamo completed her prep career at Lincoln College Prep High School. During high school, Palaamo was a first team all-district and first team Interscholastic League selection, while also being named to the Spikefest all-tournament team. Palaamo also played for the KC Lady Jags club volleyball team. Outside of volleyball, Palaamo was in the Junior Classical League and made the honor roll.
 

Palaamo joins 18 other athletes who have signed to join the Lady Eagles program next season. The other incoming players include: Taylor Reed (University of Southern Indiana), Nikole Torno (St. Louis-Meramec), Erica LaBoube (East Central College), Megan Santhuff (East Central College), Sarah Lewey (Liberty HS), Tori King (Ash Grove HS), Brandy Raper (Ash Grove HS), Hannah Babcock (Hickman HS), Amanda Nickoley (Mexico HS), Rebecca Brown (Troy Buchanan HS), Danielle Sellers (Troy Buchanan HS), Hannah Spry (Warsaw, Mo.), Morgyn Bergschneider (State Fair CC), Holly Blunt (Bismarck HS), Sarah Greenlee (St. Louis-Meramec), Olivia Gregory (Bowling Green HS), Sophie Whitesell (Lockwood HS) and Kelly LaGrant (Raytown HS).

 

Fia played 2 years with the Lady Jags and we are extremely proud and excited for her.
