Sergei Bautin Teams With The Outlaws

Bautin, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound defenseman from Russia, played for the Moscow Dynamo and won an Olympic Gold Medal helping the Unified Team defeat Canada 3-1 in the gold medal game at Albertville, France in 1992.
After the Olympics, Bautin was drafted by the NHLs Winnipeg Jets and as a rookie in 1992-93 played 71 regular-season games plus six playoff games. He also played for the Detroit Red Wings and was briefly promoted to the San Jose Sharks while spending 1995-96 with their affiliate, the Kansas City Blades of the International Hockey League.
Bautin played 132 NHL games, all but two with the Jets. He totaled five goals, 25 assists and 176 penalty minutes. After leaving the NHL, he continued his career in Sweden, Russia and Germany before retiring in 2003 after nine professional seasons.
Sergei will be a regular fixture at Ice Sports Arena, home of the Outlaws. He will conduct numerous camps and clinics throughout the year. Sergei has been the Head Coach for the Outlaws PeeWee AA team & Bantam AA team as well offering guest coach services to all of the Outlaws youth teams.
Sergei is a student of the game with an obvious affinity for coaching youth players. Please be sure to welcome him when you see him around the rink.
