Freeze win National Berth in ASA Hall of Fame Tournament- Oklahoma City
2008 HOF TRIP

AWESOME JOB IN OKLAHOMA LADIES!!!!!!! Congratulations on earning a berth to ASA Nationals in Moline, IL.

Game 1: We started out with a tough 4-2 loss vs the Arizona Hot Shots. We had several opportunities and stranded the tying run on 2nd base in both the 6th and 7th innings. Taylor threw a great game and we out hit the Hot Shots but came up short in the end.

Game 2: Was a solid performance in all aspects against the Minnesota Blizzard. Pearl dominated on the mound allowing only one hit in the 4-0 shutout. Our defense was perfect with no errors and a double-play in the 7th to seal the win. Our bats were hot with timely hitting and several extra base hits.

Game 3: Forfeit Win (Texas Extreme)

Game 4: The Georgia Blitz were no match for the Freeze as the bats remained hot and Taylor threw another masterpiece. Our defense allowed an early run on an error but we were able to come from behind in a big way with the 5-1 win.

Game 5: The Indiana Earthquake Gold ended our run late Saturday scoring five runs in the first two innings. Errors and sluggish bats were the difference in this game. We were shut out by good pitching and solid defense from the Earthquake in the 5-0 loss.

ASA KC Metros

Good job this weekend ladies.  The Freeze beat the Desoto Belles 6-0 in pool play and then suffered a dissapointing 7-6 loss to the White Sox Saturday evening. Sunday we beat the Force 7-1 and the Lasers 6-2 before losing the the Hammers 5-4.

The weekend included a home run from Leah, and extra base hits from Kalee, Emily, Mo, Timmy, Jenn, and Kelsey. We also executed three squeeze plays and five sacrifice bunts. The highlight from the weekend was undoubtly the 6th inning against the Sox when down 7-0 we scored 6 runs on 7 hits. The game ended with the tying run being thrown out on a close play at home.

It was good to see the offense come alive this week averaging 6 runs per game.  Keep up the great work as we head into the final stretch of the season.

Coach John
