This notice is to make you aware of a second auto theft has occurred at Adams Park. In both instances, objects of value were in plain sight and were targets of theft. While this type of crime is disturbing, the good news is that there are a number of common sense steps you can take to reduce the chances that you may become a victim of this crime. The Kennesaw Baseball Association along with the Kennesaw Police Department would like to encourage our Membership to practice the following:
Lock Your Doors, Set Your Alarm – An unlocked car is an invitation to theft. Car locks and alarms are your first line of defense: an open door provides the perfect opportunity for a thief to get in your car with little or no effort or detection. Use audible alarms it’s a quick notification of unwanted entry.
Hide Valuables Left in Your Car - If you must store portable electronic (GPS units or other) in your vehicle place them in the truck or glove compartment. Don’t leave anything of value in your car. Leaving your purse, wallet, checkbook, computer laptop, or even your golf clubs in plain sight in your car can be an open invitation to a thief. Again, if you must leave personal items in your car, secure them in the trunk and out of sight of the thief. Always remove these personal items from your vehicle when you park the car for the evening.
Any suspicious activity or loitering in the parking lot should be reported to the Kennesaw Police Department 770-422-2505. (Emergency 911)
