The Katy Rebels Girls Basketball Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that is affiliated with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and oversees the selection and training of AAU select basketball teams for girls in grades 2-12 in the South Texas region. The organization was established in the fall of 2008. The 2012 season will see 16 Katy Rebel teams, in grades 3-11, compete for top honors in most tournaments. With 162 players and 36 coaches, this is the largest, girls only, AAU basketball organization in the Houston area. The Katy Rebels are a Level 3 AAU Membership Club.
Our organization provides the opportunity for girls that have an above average level of basketball skills for their grade level, to play with and against girls of similar abilities. Each player in our program will improve her basic fundamental skills, in addition to learning advanced skills, through multiple practice sessions each week. In addition, each athlete will gain valuable experience by participating in highly competitive tournaments throughout the Spring and Summer. Most of our teams average 30-60 games per season.
We strive to work with Junior High and High School coaches to provide additional skill development and game experience for their players outside of the regular school season. We do not conflict with school basketball schedules. We want players from our organization to return to their school coaches each year better than when they left the previous school year. One of our goals is to help our players become leaders in their school programs. For girls who strive to earn a basketball scholarship to college, we provide assistance and guidance in the recruiting and selection process.
Our mission is to help each player prepare herself physically, mentally and emotionally to advance to her next level of play, whether that be a local recreation league, a Junior High or High School team or a College team. Each player will not only improve her basketball skills each season, but will also develop a strong work ethic while learning about the concepts of teamwork, dedication, and self discipline.
All of our Head Coaches have Varsity and/or College playing experience and have coached for many years in local organizations, Junior High Schools and/or High Schools. All Katy Rebel coaches complete the yearly AAU mandatory coach training classes, in addition to receiving club sponsored training sessions with College/Professional Coaches throughout the year. All Elite and High School Coaches are certified with the NCAA each year and complete their required training classes prior to the beginning of each season.

2012 Katy Rebels Fall Skills and Conditioning Clinics will take place in late September, October and early November 2012. Get ready for your season with us! Clinics will NOT interfer with local recreation leagues or school teams.
Specific dates, times and locations will be announced in mid August. Watch our website for details.

Only Move-Ins to the Area will be evaluated for a position on a current Katy Rebel team.

The Katy Rebels will field 16 teams in the 2012 season. 164 Katy Rebel girls will have the opportunity to continue working toward their basketball goals this spring and summer. Teams include:
- 2021/3rd grade = 1
- 2020/4th grade = 1
- 2019/5th grade = 2
- 2018/6th grade = 2
- 2017/7th grade = 4
- 2016/8th grade = 2
- High School = 4
We are very excited about the talent level of all of our teams. We look forward to another great year helping all our players improve their skills and giving them the opportunity to compete against other AAU teams.

New Uniform Sets will be available for purchase at the Parent Meeting in February 2013. All sizes available in limited quantities. Number choice must NOT duplicate another player within the same grade level. Lists will be available so this does not occur.
New Katy Rebel players MUST choose from uniform sets available at the 2013 parent meeting. No personalized number sets available for order after November 2012.
Returning Katy Rebel players (or incoming siblings) may order new uniform parts/sets in November 2012 using their current uniform number only (incoming siblings may choose their own number, but must select a number that does not duplicate another player within their incoming grade level).
4th-12th Grades = $200 Red and White Sets
4th-12th Grades = $300 Red, White and Black Sets (only for teams using black set)
Black Set ONLY = $100 (Only for those players with Red and White Sets from previous year and team using Black Set).
3rd Grade ONLY = $55 Reversible Practice/Game Jersey and Black game shorts
Full Payment must be made at time of purchase. Online payment available prior to Parent Meeting.
Standard Set includes: Travel Bag, Red/White Game Shorts, Red/White Game Jerseys, Game Socks, Reversible Practice Jersey and Shooting Shirt.
Game Shorts and Jerseys are custom-made sublimated dazzle uniforms with matching numbers on the shorts and jersey's. They do not fade or peel. 5 year old uniforms still look like new!

NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH MEMORIAL HERMANN SPORTS MEDICINE
The Katy Rebels and Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine have entered into a partnership that provides many wonderful benefits to the players in our Katy Rebel organization for the 2012 season and beyond.
Included benefits for the 2012 season, at no charge to our Katy Rebel players, are:
- A standing injury evaluation clinic one day per week during our season.
- Year round access to an athletic trainer hotline for parents and coaches.
- Athletic trainer coverage at Prime Time Nationals in July 2012.
- ImPACT Testing for all players in Grades 6-12.
- ACL injury prevention education and exercises for Katy Rebel coaches.
- Coach Clinic for education on stretching, injury prevention, first aid, etc.
- General injury prevention and athlete welfare education for Katy Rebel parents.
- Donation to the Katy Rebel General Scholarship Fund.
The Katy Rebels are proud to be the only AAU basketball organization in the South Texas area to have a partnership with Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine. We feel our new partnership offers our athletes the best care possible if injuries occur. But more importantly, it will help our coaches and parents prepare their athletes for a lifetime of proper care of their bodies as high level athletes.
