Manditory Parent Meeting - January 31st

Dear Katy Tiger Baseball Parents,

The Katy High School Baseball Coaching Staff would like to invite you to the Katy Tigers' Baseball Parents Meeting and Pot Luck Dinner that will be held on Monday, January 31st @ 7pm, in the West Campus Cafeteria.  At this meeting, we will address several important issues.  We will introduce our coaching staff and booster club representatives, supply schedules and maps, go over rules and regulations, and enjoy the great food.  We have been doing this for several years now, and we have had a tremendous response from parents.  In order to ensure that we have a variety of food, we have organzied the following:

Senior Parents - Meat

Junior Parents - Vegetable Dishes and Casseroles

Sophomore Parents - Salads and Breads

Freshman Parents - Desserts

We hope you will be able to attend, and are looking forward to meeting all of you!

The 2011 baseball season is upon us and our players and coaches are very excited about the great opportunities to have another successful season.  We would like for you to be a part in helping the Tigers achieve their goals!  As we have done in the past, the Katy Tiger Baseball Program will raise money to help fund the cost of equipment, supplies, and projects to improve our program and maintain it's rating as one of the top high school baseball programs and facilities in Texas.

The Katy Tigers will participate in the 2011 Baseball Hit-A-Thon on Saturday, January 29th (time TBA).  Click on the HANDOUT below for the Pledge Sheet.

2011 Hit-A-Thon and Fundraiser Lunch

The Katy Tigers will kick off the season this Saturday with the 2011 Hit-A-Thon, Home Run Contest and Fundraiser Lunch.  Bring your family and friends out to Tiger Stadium to get a look at this year's upcoming talent.

The varsity team will work out from 9am-12pm followed by a Fundraiser Lunch from 12pm-1pm.  You will have a choice of a hamburger or hot dog meal to include chips and a drink for $3.00 per person.  The funds raised will help support the Katy Invitational Varsity Tournament in March 2011.

At 1pm, we will start the Hit-A-Thon off with the Home Run Contest between our guest Professional Baseball Players:  Carter Jurica, ex Katy Tiger who played for Kansas State and now plays for the San Francisco Giants and Brian Theriot, ex Westside Wolf who played for Texas State and now plays for the Kansas City Royals.  The Home Run Contest will be followed by the Hit-A-Thon where the varsity players will take the field first followed by the sub-varsity players.  Tryouts will continue at 3pm .

Katy Tiger Baseball Program Wish List

Another exciting year of Katy baseball is upon us and the baseball program is asking for your support.  Katy athletes have always been a strong force in our community and the community has always taken pride and supported all of our amateur athletes.

What we need is to be able to provide the baseball program the rest of the financial support needed for the consumable and depreciable items that our annual budget doesn't support.  Items such as additional baseballs and gear and items that degrade like pitching mounds and home plate covers, fence boards and tires on the portable hitting cages.

You can find the "Wish List" handout below.  If you are interested in donating any of the items on the Wish List or would like to make a monetary donation to go toward any of these items, please contact Teri Gaffney at gaffneykaty@aol.com for more information.

Thank you in advance for your continued support of the Katy Tigers.

2011 Katy Invitational Baseball Tournament

The Katy Tigers will host the varsity Katy Invitational Baseball Tournament on March 3-5, 2011 where five premier Houston area teams (Katy, Pearland Dawson, Kingwood Park, Cy Lakes and Bay City) will be competing for bragging rights and where coaches will be developing their strategies and rosters for the upcoming season.  A spring training showcase right here in our own back yard. We would like to invite all of you to come out and watch some great Tiger Baseball !

We are currently looking for sponsors for this upcoming tournament.  Click on the Sponsorship Form below to see the different sponsorship levels ranging from $25 to $500.  Recognition of our sponsors will be given throughout the tournament as well as a listing or ad in our tournament program.

There are several volunteer opportunities available and we need as much parent involvement as possible to make this tournament a success.  We are in need of scorekeepers, announcers, ticket sales, concession workers, groundkeeper, etc.  If you are able to volunteer during this time, please contact Teri Gaffney at gaffneykaty@aol.com
