Kansas Braves: Welcome

Welcome to the Kansas Braves Website.  The Braves are a 12 and under boys baseball team for 2013.  We are the reigning Kansas State Champions and the USSSA World Series Champions.  We are a group of kids, coaches, and parents who are committed to teaching and playing the game of baseball at the highest level.  We stress fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication to a common cause.  We strive to provide a positive structured environment of learning that will build character traits that will serve our players for a lifetime.

Braves players must possess the following qualities:

1.  A willingness to be coached and to study all aspects of the game.

2.  A spirit of competition.

3.  An intense desire to accept nothing less than the best effort the player is capable of giving.

4.  Willingness to take responsibility and take an active part in team leadership and unity.

5.  Willingness to make sacrifices for the team.

6.  A desire to improve on and off the field.

7.  A desire to make a difference.

8.  A desire to have fun and be CHAMPIONS.

If you think you have what it takes, contact Manager Todd Hottman at todd@hottmanlaw.com.  We are still looking for pitchers and catchers.  E-mail for more information if interested.

Our Manager is Todd Hottman.  Todd has coached youth baseball since 1997 ages 4-18.  His older(11 and older) tournament teams have consistently been ranked in the top 10 nationally. Nearly all previous players have made their High School teams.  10 of 11 players from the 2003 team that was ranked 8th in the US received scholarships and are playing/played college baseball in either Division 1, Division II, NAIA, or JUCO.  His teams have qualified for and played every year in the State Tournaments and the World Series in places like Steamboat Springs, CO, Tulsa, OK, Hutchinson, KS, and Detroit, MI, St Louis, MO, Omaha, NE to name a few.

Our practices are structured, well planned, and efficient.  We provide instruction in all fundamentals and also the mental aspects of the game.  We like hard-nosed and smart players.  We understand that physical mistakes happen, but attempt to eliminate the mental ones. We believe in practicing hard, playing to win, but not at the expense of having fun.
