1952 Coach Albert Harlen "Tuck" Gudger
A. L. Brown opened in 1952... Coach Gudger was the first Coach. He had a record of 10-0 in 1952. The team was South Piedmont Conference Champions.

The Burlington Williams and Elon graduate began his coaching career as a Graham assistant from 1960-65. He was 16-6-1 from 1966-67 as Graham's head coach. As the head football coach at High Point Andrews from 1968-73, his record was 46-7-2, including a 4A state championship in 1972. Boswell was hired by N.C. State coach Lou Holtz and was an assistant there from 1974-76. He came to A.L. Brown as the AD and head coach in 1976. He brought weight training and stability. Boswell's first two teams were 2-8 and 3-7, but a 7-3 season in 1978 began the Wonders' current run of 31 consecutive winning seasons. Boswell's 1980 team with future NFL standouts Ethan Horton and Lance Smith was ranked 19th nationally, and his 1982 team was ranked as high as 13th in the nation. His 1984 team was state runner-up. Boswell finished his tenure at Brown in 1988 with a record of 102-38-1 and six conference championships. Brown won 4A league titles in 1979 and 1980. Boswell continued his successful career in Rock Hill, S.C. Boswell, 72, now serves as an assistant principal at South Rowan. He was also the one who had the "Little" taken away from in front of WONDERS. He said that was giving the wrong image.

1989-1999 Coach Bruce Hardin
Record...121-24
Bruce is the most successful Coach the WONDERS have ever had. He was 121-24 over 11 years. His teams won 2 State Championships('89 & '97),and was runner-up in 1991. They also had 10 playoff appearances in 11 years, and won 11 games 7 times. The WONDERS were 40-3 from 1997-1999. He had 2 sons(Justin & Blair)who had some great seasons at Kannapolis. Justin was 25-2 at QB for Brown in '98 &'99. Bruce was Head Foottball Coach for the NC Shrine Bowl in 1996, and an Assistant Coach in 1990.

2000- Coach Ron Massey
Record 108-30
Ron came to WONDERland from Kings Mountain High School where he was very successful. He compiled a record of 47-15-2 as Head Coach of King's Mtn. since 1995. The WONDERS met Ron's Mountaineers in the semi-finals in 1997 and won 40-27. King's Mountain won 26-21 in the quarterfinals in 1998. This was the last WONDER game for Nick Maddox. Ron's Mountaineers won Southwestern Conference Championships in '96, '97, and '98 and made the state playoffs from '95-'98. He had previous head coaching jobs at Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville where his record was 21-13 and W.G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, where he went 17-23-1. He was Wake County Coach of the Year in 1988. He also was an assistant football coach in the Shrine Bowl in 2001. Ron was selected as one of eight coaches for the Homer Thompson Sportmanship Award from the NCHSAA  for the "8 coaches who make a difference" on 4/13/2007. He was also inducted into the Kings Mountain Hall of Fame(6/07). His five year coaching career there was the most productive in the school's history. He has finished his 9th season here in WONDERland. In his first season in Kannapolis in 2000, the WONDERS went 11-2 and finished 2nd in the SPC Conference. Since then, Kannapolis has either won or been co-champions. '01 -'04 NPC and '05-'07 SPC. They have made the state playoffs in all his 9 seasons. Made the State Championship game in 2008, but lost 34-18 to Greensboro Dudley.
