***Special Thanks***

" A special thanks to Eddie Sherrill, Harry Mills, Sam Falls, Bob Query, and Tim Kennerly for helping in the Spirit Tent, and also to the Wonder Fans who came by and purchased Programs, Wonder Wear and played half and half at the Statesville Game. This proved to be one of our busiest nights in many years. A big thanks to Shayne Fesperman from the Booster Board and Chris Almond from Harrisburg Printing for helping with this year's program, and of course to all the Business's and Families who placed ads in the Program. And to all who purchased reserved seats and parking as well.

We would also like to thank Mr. William McInnis for the great job he did in painting and touching up at Kannapolis Memorial Stadium. William worked several days in extreme heat to get the place ready for Friday night. Kennerly, Keith Garver, Buster Plummer, William, Harry Greene and Dane Laney put in several hours on Tuesday August 18 hanging The Corporate Signs at the West End of the Stadium. Please note the new sign at the entrance of the Stadium which acknowledges State Championship and State Runner-up Teams in Wonder History. Willie Moore Sign Company did a great job.

Willie Douglas Concrete is responsible for the new floor in The Spirit Tent. This was sorely needed as past years have seen workers sloshing through mud, water, and mess on foul weather nights. A big thanks to Willie for a job well done.

Raymond Stafford ( Stringbean's Barbeque and Catering ) reported the biggest night in concessions over the past two years. This season, with the new conference should be a boost to the revenue stream in Wonderland. "

                            Annual Wonder Classic Golf Tournament

The Annual Wonder Classic Golf Tournament was held June 24, 2009 at the Warrior Golf Club in Landis, NC. This turned out to be one of the best tournaments we've had. The Good Folks at the Warrior were great to work with and we appreciate their hospitality.

We owe a big thanks to all of our Sponsors, including K-Town Cars ( Graden Yates), Falls Jewelers ( Sam Falls ) and CMC-NorthEast who served as Corporate Sponsors; and to all the many players who participated.

As always, Terry Edwards did a super job in organizing and running the event on behalf of the Kannapolis Booster Club. Terry's dedication and hard work were very evident to all involved. Many others including the Wentworth connection of Veteran Booster David Taylor and Sam Falls, Arlene and Darlene Perkins, Jan Massey, Dane Laney and a host of others spent hours helping to insure the success.

As a result, thousands of dollars were raised to help support Wonder Athletes.

Thanks again,
Kannapolis Booster Board

THANKS, DANE!!

Hats off to Booster Board member, and Trustee Dane Laney. A former Wonder Defensive Back, Dane also serves as Executive Producer for Wonder Football on WRKB. Dane was and is the driving force behind The Corporate Sponsor Program, which is a major source of revenue for the Booster Club. Dane created the popular Corporate Sponsor Hospitality Room, where Corporate Sponsors, Civic Leaders, and Administrative members from both The KCS and visiting schools can meet prior to the home games. Dane has also worked on such Committees as the Football program, Concessions, and the popular Wonder Classic Golf Tournament. He is a great ambassador for the Booster Club. Dane has personally made sure that Kannapolis Memorial Stadium is a place we all can be proud of, contributing hundreds of hours painting and spiffing up the Stadium.

Laney's countless hours of volunteer work in and around Wonder Athletics cannot be measured.
Dane symbolizes what a Booster Club should be.

Thanks for all you do Dane !

New Board Of Directors Appointees for 2009-10

The Kannapolis Booster Club is happy to recognize new Board Of Directors appointees Ms. Cindy Pittmon and one of the Boosters all-time supporters, Mr. David Taylor to our Board.

Ms. Pittmon works closely with Board Trustee Dane Laney in the production of the Corporate recognition area, a Laney inspiration that has been offered for several years now. Ms. Pittmon has already done a great job in this area, and we know will continue to do so.

Mr. Taylor, a former Board Vice President, returns to the Board to offer his expertise in several areas. He will initially help team meal leaders Kenny Brandon and Gerald Hilton on Friday home games in this area.
Please join us in welcoming these fine folks.

Hats off to Harry Greene Jr., Graden Yates , Terry Berryman, Dale Fink, and the whole Board for a great effort in this year's Barbeque Sale. And also Harrisburg Printing is on Board for another Wonder Football Program.

Go Wonders, and see ya in Memorial Stadium in 2009 !

                Wonder Hospitality Room

The Wonder Hospitality Room was started in 2006 by the Kannapolis Booster Club in order to bring A. L. Brown High school closer to the Corporate Sponsors who support the schools athletic programs and to create a stronger bond between our high school administration as well as our opponents high school administration who are also invited to the event. It is located inside of the lobby of the new auxiliary gym. Other individuals and officials invited to the Wonder Hospitality Room include city officials, school board members and Research Campus officials who are visiting the area along with special people affiliated with the athletic program. Also included are individuals who receive special invitations by the high school principal and the Kannapolis City School Superintendent. Area food establishments donate the food to the Wonder Hospitality Room. In the past we have had businesses such as Logan’s Steakhouse, Johnny Carinos Italian Restaurant, Pizza Hut, Varsity BBQ,  StringBeans BBQ, and Flyin Buffalo providing the food for our event.

The Wonder Hospitality Room is hosted by Brenda Speck. She is assisted by Jan Query,  Arlene Perkins, Darlene Perkins. These ladys are all volunteers. Linen table cloths and fresh flowers are the order of the day when invited guests visit the Wonder Hospitality Room. A. L. Brown High School and the Kannapolis Booster Club are proud to host this event.
