Kalamazoo Klash Girls Softball Club: Welcome
Mission Statement
Established in 1996.
Our mission is to: promote the growth of amateur softball for girls 18 years of age and under; promote all phases of girls fastpitch softball, including standard rules and regulations that can be observed by all members; teach and train the proper skills of softball play and the rules of the game and foster national amateur softball competition by conducting well organized ASA Regional and National Qualifying Tournaments and be represented by teams in Local, State, Regional and National Tournaments.

13th Annual Klash Round Robin
Sunday, April 22 in Kalamazoo. 10U, 11U, 12U and 14U Divisions. Each team plays 3 games. Entry fee is $200. Contact Greg for an entry form at:
2012 ASA/USA National Qualifier for Girls Class A Fastpitch 10-Under and 12-Under
Will be held on May 12 and 13 in Kalamazoo. Format is two pool games to determine seeding into double elimination bracket.
Winner in each division will receive a berth to the ASA/USA National Championship in Bloomington, IN and Moline, IL, respectively for 10-Under and 12-Under Division.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams in each division will receive a berth to the ASA Northern or Eastern Nationals

01 Blue are Black Friday Champs, 11/27/11
Congratulations to the Klash 01 Blue team on winning the 10U Black Friday Indoor Tournament at Softball Fans in Kalamazoo. Klash went 3-0 in pool play and defeated the Lakeshore Storm in the finals by a score of 4-1.
South Portage AllStar Team is State Champs,11/14/11
Congratulations to the South Portage Little League AllStar team on winning the Little League State Tournament, and placing 3rd in the Regional Tournament for the 11-12 Year Old Softball Division. The following players that played on the Klash 1999 teams this past season are on team:
Loren Nagy Signs with WMU, 11/12/11
Congratulation to Loren Nagy on signing a National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 softball at Western Michigan University begining in the 2012-13 season. Loren played on our first 10U team in 2002 and continued to play for Klash through the 2006 season. Loren has been a member on several State and National Championship teams in her career. Loren is a senior at Mattawan High School.
01 Blue Win in Chicago, 10/10/11
Kalamazoo Klash 01 Blue won the Lisle Slammers Fall Bash Tournament in Lisle, IL over the October 8-9 weekend. Klash went 3- 0 in pool play and 3-0 in bracket play. In the championship game, Klash defeated the St Charles Comets to earn a berth to the 2012 ASA Northern Nationals. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.

Congratulation to the Michigan Batbusters for winning the Qualifier and receiving the berth to USA/ASA Nationals.
99 White Team are 12U Champs, 6/13/11
Klash 99 White went 5-0 to win the 2011 USSSA Kalamazoo Klassic over the June 10-12 weekend.
98 Team are 12U Memorial Day Champs, 6/1/11
Klash 98 won the USSSA Tournament in Holland over the Memorial Day weekend. They went 7-0 over the weekend. Congratulations
97 Team win in Jackson, 5/22/11
Klash 97 went 2-2 in pool play and then defeated Hurricanes Black and Browns Fastpitch to win the 14U Division of the NSA Fastpitch Challenge in Jackson over the weekend. Congratulations to all.
99 White Team wins in Jackson, 5/22/11
Klash 99 White won the 12U NSA Fastpitch Challenge Tournament in Jackson, MI on May 21st-22nd, going undefeated during the weekend. Congratulations.
2000 Team are 10U Champions in Grand Rapids, 5/22/11
Klash 00 went 4-0 over the weekend to win the May Mania USSSA Tournament in Ada, MI. Klash won both pool games. In bracket play, they defeated Klash 01 and Traverse City Cherry Bombers to win the tournament. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.
98 Team Are 12U Champions in Canton, 5/9/11
Klash 98 went 5-1 over the weekend to win the P C Pride Spring USSSA Tournment in Canto, MI. Klash won 2 of the 3 pool games. In bracket play they defeated Team Michigan 7-6 and Compuware 4-1 to get to the championship game. In the finals, they defeated the Grand Rapids Blaze 11-4. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.
97 Team 14U Runners Up in Indiana, 4/10/11
Klash 97 were runners up at the CCAC Spring Madness NSA Tournament over the April 8-10 weekend. Klash went 2-0 in pool play and 4-1 in bracket play to get to the championship game. They were defeated in the championship game by a score or 10-6 against the Indiana Ambush.
Whitney Leiderman to attend Lake Forest College, 1/3/11
Whitney Leiderman will play college softball at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois starting in the fall 2011. Whitney is currently a senior at Portage Northern High School and played four years for Klash from 2002 - 2005. Congratulations Whit!
Becca Shemberger is a Bronco, 11/10/10
Becca Shemberger has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 college softball at Western Michigan University starting in the 2011-12 season. Becca is a pitcher and played for Klash for 5 years from 2002 - 2006.
Becca is currently a senior at Portage Central High School and will be playing travel softball this summer for the Great Lakes Lightning 18U team before enter WMU in the fall. Congratulations Becca!
USSSA 11U World Series, 7/18/10
Congratulations to the 98 Team on runners up at the USSSA 11U World Series in Akron, Ohio. Klash went 3-0 in pool play. In bracket play, they came out of the losers bracket to face the Birmingham Mustangs. In the championship game, they lost by a score of 4-1.
A great finish in this national tournament and season for the 98 team.
Klash 95 Win in Muskegon, 7/14/10
The 95 team won the Muskegon Beat The Heat NSA tournament over the July 10-11 weekend. Klash went 2-1 in pool play and 3-0 in bracket play. Klash defeated the Caldonia Chaos 8-0 in the championship game. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.
Thompson Makes Commitment to Ferris State University, 7/13/10
Congratulations to Stacy Thompson for her recent verbal commitment to accept an athletic scholarship to play softball for Ferris State University in 2012. Stacy is currently on the Kalamazoo Klash 16U “A” team and has played for Klash from 2005-2010. Stacy is a pitcher and plays outfield and 3rd base. She works with professional trainer Kim Worden. Stacy will be junior at Mattawan High School where she played on the varsity softball team during her freshman and sophomore years. Stacy earned all conference honorable mention and “Coaches’ Award” during her sophomore year and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Congratulations to the 98 team on winning the 12U B NSA State Championship. They defeated the MBS Jets 10-9 in the IF game. Overall they went 6-1 on the weekend.
The 98 team now heads to the USSSA World Series in Ohio in July
2010 ASA National Qualifier for Girls Class A 14U, 6/13/10
Congratulations to both the Revolution Elite and the Indiana Shockwaves for the 1st and 2nd place finishes at the ASA National Qualifier on the June 11-13 weekend in Kalamazoo, MI.
With Revolution Elite earning a berth in a previous National Qualifier, the Region 8 berth was given to the Indiana Shockwaves to attend the USA/ASA Nationals in Moline, IL in August.
Klash 95 are Memorial Day Champions, 5/31/10
The Klash 95 team went undefeated to win the 14U Division USSSA Memorial Day Showdown in Holland. Klash went 3-0 in pool play on Saturday to earn the # 1 bracket seed. On Sunday, they defeated Mattawan Thundercats 7 - 1 in the semi's and defeated Michigan Elite Black 3-2 in the finals.

Klash 99 Wins in Chicago, 5/25/10
The Klash 99 team went undefeated and won the Tinley Park Rockers NSA World Series Qualifier in the 10U division. Klash went 3 - 0 in pool play on Saturday. On Sunday they defeated the Tinley Park Bulldogs and the Chicago Fireworks to gain a berth in the championship game. Klash defeated the Diamond Queens, out of Indiana, by a score of 7 - 3.
Klash earned a berth to the NSA World Series in July. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.
Klash 97 Wins Fastpitch Challenge, 5/23/10
Coach Don King's 12U team won the Fastpitch NSA Challenge in Jackson over the May 22-23 weekend. In pool play, they defeated the Oakland Mustangs 12-0, lost to the Pride Stars 9-1 and defeated the Oakland Outlaws 16-2.
In bracket play, Klash defeated the Wild Fastpitch Black 9-7 and defeated the Line Drive Express Gold 12-4 to get to the championship game. In the championship game, they defeated the Pride Stars 7-6 to take the title.
Klash 98 Wins in Kalamazoo, 5/17/10
Coach Heather Hatcher's 12U team won the West Michigan Starter USSSA Tournament over the May 15-16 weekend. Klash went undefeated in pool play and won all three bracket games to take the title. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.
Klash 95 Runners Up at Potterville NSA Tournament, 5/11/10
Coach Eric Nuyen's 14U team finished in second place at the NSA Tournament in Potterville over the May 8-9 weekend. In spite of the poor weather conditions, the team won all three of its pool games against Orange Crush, Great Lakes Lightning and Pioneer Softball Club. They defeated Orange Crush 10-0 in the semifinals and lost to Pioneer 1-0 in the championship game.
Warr to Attend Radford University, 4/28/10
Jackie Warr has made a verbal committment to play Division 1 Softball at Radford University in Virginia starting in the 2012-13 school year. Jackie is a sophmore at Portage Central High School and will play summer travel ball with the Beverly Bandits out of Chicago. Jackie played four years of travel ball with Klash from 2005 - 2008, playing middle infield. Congratulation Jackie!
