KAISER KICK-OFF CLUB MINUTES FOR
SEPTEMBER 19TH 2007
In Attendance:
Chet Sobotka, Maria Parker, Terrie Holbrook, Liz Manzo, Jackie De Luna, Stacey De Luna, Diana Burckhard, Yolanda Wash, Benjamin Wash, Sandy Buyard, Davetta Cooksey, Hubert Mann, Maria Aguilar , James Murphy, La Genia Carter, David Carter.
The minutes for Sept 12th were reviewed and approved without exceptions.
We welcomed new member, Day Cooksey
Treasurer’s Report:
Terrie Holbrook handed out the approved proposed budget for 2007/2008 as a reminder of our financial standing. The following amendments were made to the budget.
3.0 Players Names on Jerseys increased from $1,200 to $1,400.00.
Insurance/Clinics/Classes reduced from $1,200.00 to $471.00
Player of the Week Shirts reduced from $2,300.00 to $2,233.00
Quarterback Club – Misc. T Shirts/equipment increased from $1,000.00 to $1,010.00.
Game Day:
We will be playing Cahon High School @ Cahon. Chet Sobotka printed out the directions to the school.
Team Meal:
This week’s sponsor is KKC. The meal will be Fried chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, salad rolls. The chocolate chip cookies from Stater Brothers, will be donated by Benjamin Wash. The cookies for last week’s team meal were donated by the Mike and Diana Burckhard.
The team meal servers this week will be Chet Sobotka, Maria Parker, Sandy Buyard, Shanna Torrez, Stacey De Luna, Day Cooksey, and Elizabeth Monzo.
Recruitment: 1 new member joined.
Sponsorships:
Mr. Michael Tahon will donate $350.00 towards a team meal.
Team Web Site:
David Carter indicated that he needs additional web storage space in order to fit all requested items on the site. He will be checking on the cost of additional space.
Newsletter:
The newsletter is out
Calendar of Events:
Parent Night is September 20th at 5:45 pm. KKC will be selling Cat Gear, soliciting new members and handing out this week’s newsletter. The volunteers for Parent Night are Chet Sobotka, Day Cooksey, Maria Parker, Sandy Buyard and La Genia Carter.
Facility Planning:
The lawn is in they are continuing to progress slightly ahead of schedule.
Snack Bar for Basket Ball:
Beginning in December, on Wednesday and Friday from 2:00 pm until half time of the Varsity game, the KKC will be running a snack bar. It has not yet been confirmed if we will be sharing the profit and responsibility with the Cheerleaders.
New Business:
From now on the Schools Athlete of the Week will be on the Kaiser HS marquee.
Terrie Holbrook is checking with Coach Ross to possibly sell season passes for next year. Becky Cruz is also doing research on the idea.
Our Next meeting is September 26th 2007 KHS – RM K102.

Elizabeth Jones, Sandy Buyard, Jackie De Luna, Mauro De Luna, Diana Burckhard,
Sylvia Lenart, Lucy Quintero, La Genia Carter
The minutes from August 22nd
were reviewed. A motion was made to accept the minutes and was accepted 1st
by Sandy Buyard and 2nd by Elizabeth Jones.
Treasury: No report
Recruitment:
Tim Parker reported KKC
members. Tim Parker will be at the
JV game recruiting this week.
Team Meals:
Coach Bruich says that he will
suit up approximately 65-75 players therefore we will feed approximately 90
people including coaches and managers.
Team Website: No information
News Letter:
Mauro De Luna suggested that we
spotlight the players of the week or the offense 1 week and the defense the
opposite week to use as material for the news letter. The suggestion was well received.
Calendar of events:
The JV and Varsity teams will play
at Arroyo Valley this week. The Junior Varsity will play on Thursday at 3:15 pm
at Arroyo Valley and the freshmen will be playing at South ridge Middle School. Chet Sobotka is requesting all
available KKC members to go out and support the teams. The following week will
be playing J.W. North @ home.
Fundraisers:
We will be selling beverages and
candy at Southridge Middle during the freshmen and JV games starting next
week. Elaine Sobotka will supply a
cash box for the events. We are
also asking for donations of water, Gatorade, and candy to avoid overhead cost
and increase profits.
Facility planning:
All plans appear to be on
schedule.

The menu for this week is shredded
chicken, beans, rice and tortillas. Chocolate Chip cookies will be purchased
from Vons Market. The meal will be
prepared by Beck Cruz’s caterer at a cost of $350.00.
Elaine has recruited 6 volunteers
to serve team meal. They should
arrive between 2:30 and 3:00 pm on Friday.
Mrs. De Luna’s employer will
donate 1 team meal.
The Goodman family is working on
getting Vince’s Spaghetti Factory.
Lucy Quintero will donate a team
meal.
The Jones and Parker Families will
join up to donate a meal.
Terri Holbrook and Norma Nieto
will supply a meal
The Carter family will donate
$150.00 towards a team meal.
John Elway Toyota has agreed to
donate a generous $500.00 to the KKC.
We have a few other possible
sponsors that have not been confirmed.
A motion was made to adjourn the
meeting at 7:00 pm. The motion was
1st by Jackie De Luna and 2nd by Tim Parker.
