THE COACHES
Mike Butler: Grew up playing football AKA soccer in his native Guyana, South America until he migrated to the US at age 19. Unable to make contact with soccer, he continued his bicycle racing career and eventually coaching a women's team for several years. In 1992 he returned to soccer helping his older daughter perfect her game and in 1998 began coaching girls youth soccer. Mike holds an “E” license in coaching.
Morva McDonald: Joined the team in the Spring of 2003. She started playing in Tulsa, Ok at age 7 and retired in the fall of 2002 and can only remember missing a total of two seasons. A member of the Oklahoma state team at 14 and tried out for nationals at 15 making the reserve list. She played four years at Tufts University in every position but goalie, wing, or outside defense. Morva moved to Seattle, but stays in contact.
Erika Pelz-Butler: Starting goalie for all four years at Blair High School, MVP twice and played in the Montgomery County Seniors All-Stars game. She played division 1 of Washington Area Girls Soccer League for the number one club in the country.
TEAM MANAGER: Mary Pelz: a passionate soccer fan since becoming a goalie-mom many years ago. Mary's no stranger to athlete competition as she's a former multi state champion and national caliber racing cyclist. Mary is also a licensed Personal Trainer.
