JSL Hoops : Welcome

JSL Hoops
Welcome to the Lightning!!!

spring classic

mlk Classic

Martin Luther King Classic was truly a Classic this year. We had 40 teams in attendance and all the games where greatly competitive top to bottom!

Well coached Central Jersey Hawks showed up Big! They won their pool out right and lost a heart breaker to team Phenom by 1 bucket. What a contest that was!

Mid-Jersey Heat is starting fresh with this young 3rd grade group. They are babies but showed that they can compete.

Hoop Nation's Full Court Press wore down South Amboy! Forces numerous turnovers

Brandon Wilson is definately one of New Jersey's top guards quiet as kept. Averaged over 20 leading JSL 12u to the Finals. JSL Hoops championship hopes fell short to a very talented Brooklyn Kings group.

JJ Hoops is back on the seen with a very talented 13u group based out of Long Branch. Watch out, these boys have scary potential.

Can't say enough about this Team Phenom vs CJ Hawks 11u Championship game. These 2 teams got it in!

Brandon Wilson on the move slashing!

Physical battle in the paint!

The last of the Carrington's! Darrion Carrington has taken the torch form his brothers and is holden it down. This 14u guard is a legacy of bother Anthony Carrington (Wagner) & Kyle Carrington (3rd year starter @Toms River North HS). All 3 is JSL Hoops raised!

Coach LJ giving some instructions during a time-out! JSL Hoops 14u Won the CHIP!

Kyle Rhoden...swing man! This 11u JSL Kid has it all. He will mature into a great talent. He has guard skills with a forward body. His father stands 6'6".

CJ Hawks Guard on the move!

Jr Warriors made an impressive showing. Lost their chance to advance losing to the host club JSL Hoops!

Hassan Diawara is most definately one of New Jersey's premier 14u guards! Not to many guards out there can stay in front of Hassan. When he gets it going, he can go for whatever! JSL Hoops will make the trip back to Orlando AAU Nationals in July with this group!

There was no 10u competition for the Bayshore Bulldogs easily winning every game by a very strong margin. They also made a great show a the Maryland Invitation Tournament (MIT) going 4-1.

Bayshore has one of the best 4th grade back courts in the state of NJ!

One word would describe the Team Phenom vs CJ Hawks Chip Game......Transition!

Hoop Nation!

Jr Warriors vs JSL Hoops fighting for the Pool!

Who wants it?

Again...Who wants it!

CJ Hawks Coach Tahj Holden!

Snow Flake Classic Post Tournament Report

This tournament was a good tune-up for the 12th Annual MLK Classic. I have noticed progress in some of the teams. Games are becoming more competitive across the board!

Bashore 12u has been in the lab. They are showing heart competitively. Took Jersey City Boys & Girls Club to overtime before losing a close one! Bayshore on the move!

JC vs Bayshore was a classic & exciting showdown!

JSL Hoops 12u swept this division but not easy. They beat a very good Jersey City Boys Club team and a talented Bayshore team to wrap it up. Brandon Wilson, Drew Shaw & Kaylen Oweh is really becoming a killer back court. Sean Turner & Nick Fessler is no shabby compliments.

Playaz Basketball Club! I love this group. Very talented and well coached bunch. You can already see great promise in most of them. Fell short to a scrappy Bayshore team by 6.

Bashore Bulldogs 10u is definately one of the top 4th grade teams in the state. They are a very well coached and scrappy bunch. There isn't a loose ball that isn't theirs! They play really well as a team but defense is most definately their strength!

Coming off a nice showing at the Basketball Spotlight tourney, JSL 14u has been showing up big! They won this division beating a very solid and excellently coached CJ Hurricanes team. JSL closed on a second half 12 point defecit to take the chip by 10. What a great game this was!

This JSL Hoops group is the youngest in the program! Here they beat a very good Ocean Heat team by 12. Coach LJ has great future plans for them.

Jake the "Snake." Jake is definately a bulldog. Played very solid this weekend!

"Come in out the cold and ball"

JSL 14u champs

This JSL 14u Team has come a long way. They showed up big at Winter Wars posting victories against Beyond the Lines, Richmond Ironmen & Lloyd Daniels Rebels in pool play before beating an outstanding Team Scan 7th playing up. JSL won in OT! Scheduled to play in the Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic...time to step it up and do well!

Beyond the Lines Elite has been strong on the scene this year. They won the 7th grade division running through the field of All Sports Elite, Neptune Travel & Tinton Falls Travel. This is a very talented group coached by Rodney Sheridan and company!  Very interested to see how they fair on the road to the Nationals.

Shore Shots 11u won the championship beating a very scrappy Bayshore Bulldog team. Very unselfish well coached team that plays for each other!

Here are the three top performing JSL Players at the Winter Wars championship games. Darrion Carrington 14u, Brandon Wilson 12u & Kyle Rhoden 11u.

Darrion Carrington & Brandon Wilson both performed outstanding in the 14u & 12u Championships.

Jack Giamanco led his team pass a good JSL Hoops teams and also cruised past Bayshore in the finals. This Shore Shot point guard responded well for his team handling all full court pressure brought his way finding open teammates for buckets. "Jack Attack" was outstanding.

Halloween Hoops Post Tournament Report

- What a exciting week of Basketball from top to bottom. This weekend was filled with great competive games and awesome sportsmanship! Below is a few pictures JSL Hoops caught to highlight the tourney! Winter Wars November 16th -18th...Bring your game to go to war!

 JSL 14u

JSL Hoops 14u is getting better & better. The lost their first game against a loaded Team Scan team and went on to beat a very talented Playtime team, Hoop Nation & Jersey Mavericks! Represented the pool for the championship. Team Scan could not play in the chip!

Neptune Travel

Neptune Travel beat Gyme Ratz, Downtown Ballers & JSL Hoops to take the 13u Crown. The point guard play was alsome!

Team First

Team 1st is a newly developed 11u team. They have phenomonal Guard play and is developing a monster big inside to complete this team. Look for them to be tested on the upper level curcuit! Truck Bryant, Former West Virginia star has a brother in this lineup!

Neptune Travel 11

Neptune Travel 11u is a very talented bunch. For a town team, they are tough. If they can stay together, Neptune HS coach Odonnell has a future of ballers coming his way soon! They lost to Team Phenom in the finals!

             Jakari

Jakari is one of the smoothest 11u  guards around. He pushes the ball in transition better than most and has great scoring ability getting to the basket as well as good shoot touch from outside. Halloween Hoops crowds enjoyed watching him go.

 Dynamic Duo

Dynamic Duo! Zahree Harrison & Nymire Little  of Team Phenom dazzled the tournament at the 11u Division together leading their team to a 11u Championship! I think Torre & Paul Gripper found a back court to bring up the rear of Joey Gripper & Maurice "Doowoop" Watson!

        CJ Hawks

The Central Jersey Hawks 15's Represented well. After winning a great game against NJ Thunder, they lost a barn burner to Lloyd Daniel Rebels! Mid-Jersey Heat Beat Lloyd Daniels Rebels for the chip!

       NEptune Travel

Neptune Travel Loves the transition game!

     FT

What a 11u game...Team Phenom vs Neptune Travel! Team Phenom wore them down late.

 Team Phenom

Team Phenom....big shoes to fill. This program has been one of the most successful programs in the East Coast since the year 2003 til now. Produced a pro in Micheal Gilcrest (Charlotte Hornets) and a host of divion 1 scholarship players in college programs across the country. This group is well on it's way!

Young Ballas

Young ballas made a trip up all the way from Redding, Pa and represented winning the 10u bracket beating 2 very good teams....Hilltoppers & the Playaz Bball Club!
