WEATHER:Tomorrow’s forecast calls for high of 58 degrees and 50% chance of rain.As of now we plan to play, but will recheck conditions and radar tomorrow morning and will email coaches by 10am if weather cancellation is necessary, and will post any cancellation notices on this website. We want to play the games, but not in weather that will make our kids and parents miserable.Either way it will be cool, so players should dress warm and wear their jerseys over top of warm clothing.Let’s hope the skies clear by game time so we can all enjoy the first Sunday of Recreational League soccer!
Hello 2012 JSC Spring Recreational League parents!
This email confirms that your child is registered for Spring Rec Soccer which is on track to begin next week as scheduled. Team rosters have been sent to your child's coach who will be contacting you asap about their practice schedule. Again, we do not keep track of their practice times, but can tell you that most teams practice Mon, Tues, or Thurs evening.
We will staff the Hillcrest clubhouse evenings next week to hand out the reversible blue and white Rec jerseys to those who do not already have one. Jersey returns are always appreciated--saves us $15 a pop.
Shin guards are required equipment. We don't sell those, but local sporting goods stores do. Soccer cleats are not required, but do help your child play better. We have some soccer cleats to give away, and will accept your outgrown shoes for other kids to use. Baseball and football spike shoes also work well for Rec soccer.
If you don't know your coach, ask him/her for a good description and their cell # to help you find them on your first practice night and game day. It will be a full house on the nights mentioned above, and we always see a lot of parents looking lost that first practice evening.
The water fountains may not be on yet at Hillcrest, so send water with your child--it's no fun playing too thirsty.
Sunday game schedules are posted on our website--find under Handouts. Game day parking will again be busy, but we spread the games out to 1pm, 2:15pm, and 3:30pm to help relieve congestion. Please be courteous when parking--don't block people in, don't park on park and rec grass (including their ditches), etc.. There is always lots of room to park on the east side by the softball fields to avoid the congestion--evenings and Sundays.
Bring a some cash for Sunday Game Day concessions. Jerome is back--his kneffla is the best. 10% of sales goes to the club.
We have over 200 kids in spring rec, and over 100 kids in spring competitive right now--awesome!! Some are playing both. Come the middle of Rec season, if you sense your child wants to play more than the 5 weeks of Rec, consider summer academy/competitive for them. Open to kids age 7-16 and runs May 15 thru July. See our website for details www.eteamz.com/jsf
Have a great Rec Soccer League season!

PS: the JHS girls team invites your family to JSC Youth Night at their game today Tuesday 7pm at our high school field vs Bismarck. Players get in free if they wear their JSC jersey and attend with an adult. Kids are invited to stand behind goals and chase down balls for the big girls. Great way to expose your child to soccer and to support our JHS girls on what should be a nice weather evening.
Spring Competitive game schedule: games are scheduled as follows:

2012 Competitive Soccer Parent Meeting scheduled for Monday, March 5, 7-8pm at the Presbyterian Church basement, 302 2nd Ave SE (same location as for last several years) We are excited to share our 2012 plans with you.
Returning Competitive players need to register by 3/15/12 to avoid late fees. Prompt registrations needed for game scheduling purposes--thanks!!
It's not too late to participate in the Jamestown YMCA Indoor Soccer program that runs Sundays 4-6pm through February. Attached under "Handouts" is a flyer and registration form for this YMCA program. Just bring the completed form to the Y to register your child and see them play. The fee is so reasonable that it's still a good deal.
Participants ages 9-15 will be divided by age and skill to play small team soccer. Games will run continuously during these two hour sessions, and your child is invited to participate as long as they choose.
These sessions will be coached by Jamestown College players lead by Donovan Gibson. Players wear gym shorts/shoes/shirts. Penes will be provided to form teams.
Please see the attached form for other details. We hope you take advantage of this excellent opportunity for your child to play winter soccer.
Many of our emails go to parent spam folders. This could cause you to miss out on our programs, and miss important info when your child is participating in a program. To help avoid this:
1--give us two emails when you register your child (one per parent/guardian)
2--list my address of jgrugel@csicable.net as an accepted email in your spam filter. Example: for csi cable customers, access your webmail, the spam settings, and list this address under "whitelist"
