![]() |
After securing the MCYHL Squirt title, the Warriors continued their winning ways by capturing the Rock The House Tournament crown this Saint Patrick's day weekend at Floyd Hall in Montclair. The team, made up a first year squirts and a few graduating mites, started off the tournament by defeating their hosts from Montclair, 3-2. In their second game they got the better of Ringwood, 7-2. In their next game, they prevailed over a talented Ramsey team, 5-2, and finished at the top of their group. In the championship game the Warriors met a very big Nutley-Clifton squad that just captured the GSYHL title. Although outsized by a wide margin, the kids played hard and skated harder. In a barn-burner that was tied 1-1 late into the third period, the kids netted the game winner with a relentless attack of the Nutley goal with under three minutes left. The 2-1 final captured another title for the club. This was a very special season for a special team.
