University Place Jr. Viking Cheer: Updates

Hi everyone! A quick reminder to everyone that our fitting is scheduled for Tuesday June 17 between 6:00-8:00pm. It is imperative that everyone show up for this fitting or else your cheerleader may not have her uniform in time for the football season. The fitting will be held at the new NV ELITE all star cheerleading facility located on 56th and Adams. Please click the link on the calendar for Tuesday June 17 and it will give you directions. At the fitting, a table will be set up in the parent veiwing lobby. Please check in, pay your fees (if you haven't already) and fill out the appropriate paperwork to get your cheerleader registered. Sara Baydo and her helpers will be there to help you and answer any questions you may have.  

As part of our ongoing committment to sideline cheerleading, we will be offering many opportunities for your children this season. If you are interested in taking tumbling classes, please put your name on the list so that we can arrange clinics for them. I would need 8 per class in order to run a clinic or else you can schedule private tumbling classes with the coaches personally. The cost for this is set by the coaches and we can certainly put you in contact with them.

Practices will be held at the NV ELITE facility and will begin on Monday June 23rd. A final schedule will be emailed to you so please make sure your contact information is updated and current. Email will be the primary source of information as well as an information board that will be located at the gym. All the sideline cheerleaders will have a box with individual folders in which handouts, flyers and other paperwork will be placed. Please check your folder regularly.

You may also use these folders to distribute invitations to birthday parties, however we ask that if you wish to distribute other information/paperwork that you run it by us before placing it in anyone's folder. Sara Baydo has graciously volunteered her time and expertise to help our program run even more smoothly. She will be available to you all so please say hello on Tuesday and get to know her!

Another reminder: We have our UCA Youth Camp coming up in two weeks. Please remember you need to confirm you attendance on Tuesday and pay your fee for this camp at that time. Although it is not mandatory, we HIGHLY recommend that your cheerleader attend as it is a great opportunity for team bonding, learning new skills and routines. Once again, the Gig Harbor Bulldogs will be in attendance with us so be sure to welcome them with our wonderful VIKING hospitality!

Don't forget about the formation of the new Jr Viking "booster club" for the sideline cheerleaders. If you are interested in being on the board or just helping out, let Sara know at the fitting. The booster club will be responsible for fundraising, parties, community events, and other related spirit activities,,, we can assure you that this parent group will have LOTS of fun things planned and opportunities for everyone to participate! 

Finally --Thanks to all of you that are returning to cheer our football players on, welcome to those that are new to our program. You are sure to have fun this season -- rain or shine :) Please check back regularly for updated information and events. The calendar is updated regularly.
