Sunny Jim Park has been destroyed.
Sadly, like many other things in Joplin, Sunny Jim Park was destroyed by the tornado. Sunny Jim Park has been a landmark in Joplin for years. It was the prize field of the Joplin Little League. Sunny Park was not only where are children played, it was where we played and our fathers played and in some cases, where our grandfathers played.
WE WILL REBUILD. The JSLL board is determined rebuild the ballpark to the beautiful facility it has always been. This will take great amount of work and more importantly a great amount of money. There has already been a large outpouring from other little leagues, former players, and even professional sports teams offering their assistance. We are counting on the generosity of others to make this happen. If you would like to find out what you can do to help us rebuild Sunny Jim Park, you can send an email to Ryan Wood at ryan_wood@yahoo.com or Brandon Campbell at bcampbell@amatterof.com. If you would like to contribute to our efforts, you can mail a check to JSLL, PO Box 4114, Joplin, MO 64803. Please make the check out to Joplin South Little League and put "Sunny Jim Park Disaster Fund" in the memo.
