It was a very exciting weekend with some incredible wrestling. First of all we had an unfortunate circumstance occur on Thursday / Friday and that was that David Torri had acquired poison sumac all over his arms and chest and was not able to wrestle this weekend. I would like to say that you had a great season David and you worked very hard, we are all proud of you and your accomplishments this year. While it was very disappointing that David could not attend we were fortunate enough that the alternate for that age and weight bracket out of the Eastern MAWA qualifier was our own Tyler Leidy who was able to step in for David at the last minute. So we still were able to send 2 Junior Knights to Maryland, Richie Liberio and Tyler Leidy. There were 1400 kids from 13 different states at this tournament and the talent was awesome. Richie wrestled with everything he had but came up a little short in his 2 matches. I would like to add that Richie’s goal this year was to make it to this tournament which as a young Junior is quite a feat in this bracket and he did it, I know you will be back next year Richie, great job! Next I would like to congratulate Tyler, while Ty came up a little shy of his goal to also make Eastern Nationals he made the best out of getting the chance to go due to David’s injury. Ty also wrestled very hard in losing his first match and then coming back to get a victory in his second match before getting eliminated in his 3^rd match of the day. I would just like to say one more time how proud we all should be of these boys; they have been working hard practicing the last 2 months from LaSalle HS to Quakertown HS and anywhere in between. It has been a long and hard road, GREAT JOB to all 3 of you!
