JFK VOLLEYBALL FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE SEATTLE NIKE 5K FOR KIDS ON MAY 10, 2008 (SATURDAY)! The race organizer contacted me today and would love to have the JFK Volleyball Program provide the volunteers for this year’s event. For those of you that were not able to volunteer last year, it was a blast! We provided 25 volunteers and the race organizers donated $2,000 to the JFK Volleyball program. Last year, we were done with our volunteer duties before noon, so you still have most of your Saturday free for other activities. This is an AWESOME OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT LANCER VOLLEYBALL!!!!!! Please RSVP to me by e-mail ASAP (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE). If you know of any incoming freshman volleyball players, please give them the information, so they can volunteer also. I need to confirm with the event organizer that we can provide the needed volunteers. | WHO: | KENNEDY VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS/PARENTS/COACHES/ FRIENDS/ETC | | WHAT: | VOLUNTEER AT NIKE 5K FOR KIDS (http://nike5kforkids.com/seattle) | | WHEN: | May 10, 2008 (Specific time frame to be confirmed) | | WHERE: | DOWNTOWN SEATTLE (Specific location to be confirmed) | | WHY: | FUNDRAISER FOR LANCER VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM | | DUTIES: | Event set up ChampionChip distribution Water stations Handing out fresh fruit to participants Handing out bottled water at the finish Event clean up | | TRANSPORTATION: | Everyone is responsible for their own transportation | | RSVP: | Please contact Bonnie Sanders (bonniesanders@comcast.net or 206-245-3792) |

SENIOR NIGHT = SENIOR POWER! (JFK vs. Renton) Senior Night was another great success for the Lancers. With a gym full of Lancer Fans, game 1 was all 7 Seniors playing together and winning by the largest point margin of the match. JV and the Soph teams won their matches over Renton without a loss in any game. See the scores on the Schedules Page by clicking on the match.
LANCER JV Team had a great season too. They held up their end of the Lancer Power by remaining undefeated in League Play and according to coach John's stats they boasted the best ever serving percentage (94%), had the most kills ever, had the best digging efficiency and had the best serve recieve ever. They were undefeated in League, 3rd at their summer tournament and first at the Cedarcrest Tournament. Sometimes during the season, their greatest competition came from our Super Sophomore team at their competetive practices! The complete stats will be posted soon along with some pictures. You can see the team photo at their page by clicking here.
CONGRATULATIONS to our great Sophomore Team. They started the season with a 4th place in the Cedarcrest Tournament. They then went undefeated in match play for the entire season. A season that included two great match ups with Holy Names where our Lancers won both meetings 2-1. The Girls showed their strength by winning the Alice Boyle Tournament hosted by JFK over their closest competetor, Archbishop Murphy. Great season Lancer Sophomore Team with returning Sophomores, center hitter Tahulu “T” Hefa, right side hitter Melanie Hughes, left side hitter Cerice Keller and setter Natalie Miller. The Freshmen on the team were Cori Allan, Sarah Butler, Danielle Clement, Tessa Garton, Claire Kramer, Katrina Krebsbach, Adair Millard, and Nicole Post.
