Our coaching staff currently has over 100 years combined; cheerleading, dance and coaching experience.  This group is made entirely of volunteers!  They dedicate and devote their free time to this terrific organization. A broad spectrum of talent and experience are brought to this organization to help mentor and teach our young people and mold them into confident, secure and healthy individuals.  They coach for the joy of coaching.  Their reward is watching the progress of their team as well as assisting each participant reach their personal goals. 



Lisa Kerber-Head Mini Coach
Lisa was involved with gymnastics and baton twirling at a young age. She was Field Commander for her high school band and starting coaching color guard fresh out of school. Since then, Lisa has worked with many school twirling teams across Kentucky, including: Oneida Baptist Institute, Clay County High School and Greenup County High School. Lisa has been coaching recreational cheerleading for seven years and served as Jessamine Ice's assistant coach for the last year as well as assisting with the dance team. Lisa was elected as President in 2005 and still continues to serve Jessamine County All-Star Cheer and Dance.

Chris McGaughey - Senior Coach

Chris was a successful, competitive athlete in high school. She has coached recreational cheerleading for over nine years as well as judging numerous youth and recreational cheerleading competitions. Her professional experience earned her a position as Treasurer for a local recreational football and cheerleading league. Chris was elected as Treasurer of Jessamine County All-Star Cheer and Dance in January of 2006. She also serves as head Senior Division Cheerleading Coach.

Jennifer Fouch - Youth Coach

After watching from the sidelines as a cheer mom, Jennifer decided to put her experience as a former Morehead State University cheerleader to use by joining the coaching staff in 2008.   As a cheerleader for life, she has taken the reigns as the head coach of the Youth team for the 2008 - 2009 season.  We are all very excited to have Jennifer on the coaching staff and we look forward to what she has to share. 

 



Crystal Kahler - Senior Coach and Youth Coach
Crystal was a competitive gymnast as a young girl and began cheering at age 5. Crystal cheered clear through high school. During high school, she also volunteered as a youth cheerleading coach and judged loads of youth and recreational competitions in Connecticut. Crystal has worked closely with Chris McGaughey for many years, coaching, judging and instructing cheerleading technique and fundamentals to countless youth cheerleading programs.  Her valuable experience and dedication is an asset to our gym.

 


Shane Simmons

Bluegrass Cheer Mustangz is proud to have Shane Simmons as a member of our staff.  Shane is a seven-time national champion and former UK cheerleader and he brings a lot of expertise to the organization.  He will be offering private lessons, group tumbling classes, and open gym.  

Registration for tumbling classes starts on the first Tuesday of every month.  Each session is 4 weeks long and the cost is $40 per session.  Class space is limited, so be sure to sign-up early.

Open gym for middle and high school aged cheerleaders is on Tuesday from 8-9 and Thursday from 7-8 or 8-9.  The cost for open gym is $10 per hour.
