Volunteer Opportunities: Welcome

Jenkintown Youth Activities is 100% volunteer based. Volunteering with JYA can be used for school credit (community service hours/senior project) or simply to enhance the experiance of the kids in JYA.

A common misconception is that a person must be an expert in whatever they are volunteering for. This is not true. As long as someone is willing to volunteer their time, JYA will teach and help you as a volunteer. Some of our coaches have multiple years of experiance, some this is their first year. One thing every coach has in common is that they are there to make sure the kids have fun.


Field Maintenance: 
Groundskeeper: Shows up before the game and will paint the lines, rake the infield and put the bases in, etc.

Soccer:
Head Coach: A head coach will usually practice once/twice a week with the team and have a saturday game. 

Assistant Coach: An assistant coach will usually practice once/twice a week with the team and have a saturday game.

Little League: (Baseball/Softball/Tee Ball)
Head Coach: A head coach will usually practice once a week with the team and have one or two games a week.

Assistant Coach: An assistant coach will usually practice once a week with team and have one or two games a week.

Bases/Bench Coach: A bases coach only shows up to the games and helps the head coach by coaching a base or coaching the bench.

Bookkeeper: A bookkeeper only shows up to the games and keeps the book for the head coach.
