JCLL 2015 Spring Season Registration Information

What: Jefferson County (WV) Little League (JCLL) 2015 spring season registrations for tee ball, baseball and softball

Wednesday, February 25 - 6PM to 8PM
***NEW*** Thursday, February 26 - 6:30PM (note the start time) to 8PM 
Registrations will also be accepted at tryouts February 28 - March 1 at the Ranson Civic Center. 
**IMPORTANT NOTE for parents of 3 year olds:  JCLL will offer tee-ball beginning with children born anytime during 2011.
Cost: The registration cost is $120 for the first player of a family.  Any additional players (up to 4) per family - $110 per player.  Cash, Check and Credit Cards accepted.
NOTE:  The above costs include $50 in fundraising raffle tickets which can be sold to offset that portion of the registration cost.  The registration cost includes a hat and shirt for baseball, and a visor and shirt for softball.

In addition, if you wish to volunteer with JCLL during the season (coaching, helping at practices, umpiring, concession stand, etc.), you must fill out a 2015 Volunteer Application and provide a copy of your Driver's License.  If you wish to manage or coach a team, in addition to the volunteer form and a copy of your Driver's License, you will also need to fill out a JCLL Manager/Coach form.
JCLL membership opportunities will also be available.  Being a member of JCLL gives you voting rights within JCLL, and also enables you to run for a JCLL Board of Directors position for 2015-16.  It also helps defray JCLL administrative costs.  Membership costs are 1 for $3 or 2 for $5.

For ALL players, Three (3) proofs of residency dated from February 1, 2014 to February 1, 2015.  Common proofs of residency include driver's license, car registration, car insurance card, utility bill.  Click here for a complete list of acceptable proofs.  Players will be eligible to play within JCLL if they reside or the physical location of the school where they attend classes is within the JCLL boundaries.  Click here to check if you reside within or attend school within our boundaries.  NOTE:  4-year old tee-ball players can register to play within JCLL as long as parents reside in Jefferson County, since JCLL is the only Little League in the county which offers a 4-year old tee ball division.

JCLL Membership form(s) if interested; 2015 Volunteer Form and a copy of your Driver's License if interested to volunteer, and a JCLL manager/coach form.

Gently-used equipment:  There will be a Trading Post at registration where equipment will be available free of charge for those who need it.  So, if you have cleats, bats, gloves, helmets, etc. which perhaps your child(ren) have outgrown, bring it along and allow someone else to use it.


NOTE:  "Little League" ages are determined based on birth date.  For baseball players, click here.  For softball players, click here.
Tee-Ball:  JCLL offers tee-ball for children up to 6 years old.  Children born at any time during 2011 are eligible for tee-ball.
Minor "A" Baseball: For 6-7 year old players.  This is machine pitch.  NOTE that 6 year old players MUST have played at least one year of tee-ball to be eligible for this level.
Minor "AA" Baseball: For 7-9 year old players.  This is a mix of coach and child pitch.  Prospective 7-year old players must try out for placement in this division.  
Minor "AAA" Baseball: For 8-11 year old players.  This is child pitch.  All players within this age group must try out for placement in this division.
Major Baseball:  For 9-12 year old players.  Players who have never played within JCLL before, and players who previously played Minor Baseball with JCLL, must try out for placement in this division. 
Intermediate (50/70):  For 13-14 year old baseball players.  Players must try out for placement in this division.  NOTE: In the event JCLL does not place a team in this Division, players will play in the Junior Baseball Division.
Junior Baseball:  For 13-14 year old players.  All players, except those who played in the JCLL Junior Division last spring, must try out for placement in this division.
Minor Softball:  For girls 7-11 years old.  This is a mix of coach and child pitch.  All players must try out for placement in this division.
Major Softball:  For girls 9-12 years old.   This is child pitch.  Players who have never played within JCLL before, and players who previously played Minor Softball with JCLL, must try out for placement in this division.
Junior Softball:  For girls 12-14 years old.  All players, except those who played in the JCLL Junior Softball Division last spring, must try out for placement in this division.
Tryouts:  Tryouts will be held at the Ranson Civic Center from 9AM to 6PM on Saturday, February 28, and from noon to 3PM on Sunday, March 1.  Specific information will be provided at registration and is also available here.
