Knoxville Kans outdone by Bryant and JC American Blue 9-10, 8-6, earn berth in State Championship Game
JC American Blue 9-10 will play for the Tennessee 9-10 year old Little League State Championship after defeating Knoxville Kans 8-6 in six innings on Wednesday at Dandridge as David Bryant went 4-4 at the plate.
Bryant had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. Bryant homered in the third inning, singled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the first and sixth innings.
Knoxville Kans was ahead early but it ultimately surrendered the lead for good. Knoxville Kans led until the sixth inning, but JC American Blue 9-10 took the lead back on an RBI single by Carter Pollock. Zach Rice had a crucial at bat in the top of the 6th fighting off several pitches before reaching base on a single allowing the top of the order to come to bat with only one out.
Landon Smiddy racked up two RBIs on two hits for Knoxville Kans. Smiddy singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Andrew Miller threw one-third of an inning of scoreless ball for JC American Blue 9-10.
JC American Blue 9-10 will next play in the State Championship Game on Friday, July 22nd at 7:00 pm at Grace Schrader Park in Dandridge (click for Directions).

JC American Blue 9-10 cruises past Morristown Blue, 10-1
Morristown Blue didn't have a chance on Monday, as JC American Blue 9-10 won in blowout fashion, 10-1 in six innings at Dandridge.
David Bryant racked up four RBIs on three hits for JC American Blue 9-10. Bryant tripled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and homered in the fifth inning.
Zack Copenhaver was in control on the mound. Copenhaver held Morristown Blue hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.
Morristown Blue's Mason McDaniel was perfect at the dish, going 1-1. McDaniel doubled in the first inning.
Bryant tossed two innings of relief without allowing a run, striking out three while giving up one hit and two walks.
Four relief pitchers made sure the win didn't fall through the cracks for JC American Blue 9-10. Bryant faced eight batters in relief, while Carter Pollock managed to record one out to aid the victory.
JCA will next play on Wednesday, July 20th at 7:00 pm against Knoxville Karns at Grace Shrader Park in Dnadridge.

Early lead gives JC American Blue 9-10 easy victory over Tullahoma, 12-3 in first game of State Tournament
JC American Blue 9-10 jumped out to an early lead on Tullahoma and captured a 12-3 victory on Saturday at Dandridge.
With nine runs in the first three innings, JC American Blue 9-10 left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A home run by David Bryant in the first inning and a home run by Zack Copenhaver, an RBI single by Bryant, an RBI single by Carter Pollock, and a fielder's choice in the second inning fueled JC American Blue 9-10's offense early.JC American Blue 9-10 hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for JC American Blue 9-10 came when Bailey Burkes homered in the fifth inning.
Bryant boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate, to pace JC American Blue 9-10.
Andrew Miller rose to the occasion out of the bullpen, hurling two innings of shutout ball while racking up two strikeouts and giving up no hits and one walk.
Bryant threw one inning of scoreless ball for JC American Blue 9-10.
Bryant, Pollock, Burkes, Copenhaver, Kolten Keller, Andrew Miller, Zach Rice, and Tommy Kolb all collected hits for JC American Blue 9-10. Kolb led the team with three hits.

JCA 7-8 All-Stars Win First Game of State Tournament 13-7 over Estill Springs
Johnson City American began the 7-8 Little League State Tournament with a 13-7 win over Estill Springs today in Gallatin. Cade Pollock drove in the game-winning run in the sixth inning as the Americans pounded out 32 hits in their State opener. JCA will next play the winner of Clarksville and Gallatin Monday night at 8:00.

Burkes hits and pitches JC American Blue 9-10 to 17-4 victory, win District 5 Championship

Bailey Burkes came up big at the dish and on the rubber, leading JC American Blue 9-10 to a 17-4 win over JC National 9-10 on Monday at Lions Field to capture the District 5 Championship and advance to the state tournament.
Burkes went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for JC American Blue 9-10. Burkes doubled in the third inning and singled in the first, fourth, and fifth innings.
Burkes baffled JC National 9-10, striking out 12 batters. JC American Blue 9-10's pitcher allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over six innings.
JC American Blue 9-10 blew out JC National 9-10 thanks to 21 hits, including three extra base hits. JC American Blue 9-10 scored six runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Jonah Miller, a groundout by Chance Hall, a groundout by Zach Rice, a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Kolten Keller, and an RBI single by Jonah Miller.
JC National 9-10 jumped out to an early lead, but it was unable to hang on. JC National 9-10 was up until the fifth inning, but JC American Blue 9-10 had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on a wild pitch.
David Bryant, Burkes, Zack Copenhaver, Keller, Andrew Miller, Jonah Miller, and Tommy Kolb all collected hits for JC American Blue 9-10. Kolten Keller, Bailey Burkes, and Jonah Miller led the team with four hits.
The 9-10 Baseball State Tournament starts July 16th in Dandridge, TN.

Smarty Pants makes the most of seven hits in 8-6 victory over the Orioles to Capture Second Consecutive City Championship

Smarty Pants and the Orioles had no shortage of baserunners on Saturday, but it was Smarty Pants that was able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-6 win at Keystone Park to win back to back City Championships.
The Orioles had nine hits compared with Smarty Pants' seven, but the Orioles stranded seven runners on base.
Jack Cassell racked up three RBIs on two hits for Smarty Pants. Cassell homered in the first inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
Trip Povlich gave the Orioles fits on the rubber. The Orioles managed just three hits off of the Smarty Pants' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Jack Rhea racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Orioles. Rhea homered in the third inning.

Instructional League Cardinals Win 2011 TOC Championship
The Cardinals defeated the Lugnuts of the JC National League 11-5 on Saturday to claim the TOC Championship in the 7-8 Coach Pitch Division. Great job, guys!!!

Smarty Pants cruises past McLeod, 13-5; Clinches League Championship
McLeod didn't stand a chance on Monday, as Smarty Pants captured a blowout 13-5 win in five innings at Lions Field to secure the 2011 regular season championship.
Smarty Pants scored five runs in the third on an RBI single by Zachary Copenhaver, a two-run home run by Madison Ratner, an RBI single by Trip Povlich, and a passed ball.
Smarty Pants was led by a flawless day at the dish by Bruce Boles, who went 4-4 against McLeod's pitching. Boles homered in the fourth inning and singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Trevor Peret was steady at the plate for McLeod. Peret went 2-3 and scored two runs. Peret singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.
Povlich threw one inning of scoreless ball for Smarty Pants.
Jack Cassell was strong on the mound, throwing strikes on 40 of his 53 pitches. Cassell struck out five and walked two for Smarty Pants.
Smarty Pants will represent the Johnson City American League in the District 5 Tournament of Champions (TOC). Smarty Pants will open TOC play against the team representing Blountville Little League at 8:00 pm on June 14th at Arther Lady Field (JC Major League).
