Jackson Southwest Little League: Welcome

Welcome to Jackson Southwest Little League's Offical Website. This site is designed to help provide information to parents, players, and friends alike about everything JSWLL. On-Line registrations will begin on February 1st through March 11th.  If you have any special request and are doing on-line registrations please e-mail them to me at the one of the above e-mail address.  There is no place for on-line registrations special request. We will also be holding sign-ups at Mc's Sporting Goods at the Jackson Crossing Mall on Saturday, February 27th from 10:00 until 6:00 and Sunday, February 28th from 12:00 until 4:00.  There will also be a second week-end of sign-ups on Saturday, March 6th from 10:00 until 6:00 and Sunday, March 7th from 12:00 until 4:00.  Please bring one piece of residency proof with you to registrations.  If for some reason you can not make it to MC's Sporting Goods and/or do on-line registrations please call Pam Bildner at 517-782-7439 or e-mail at pamstinytunes@sbcglobal.net.

We will be also be holding try-outs for baseball players (ages 8 through 12 year olds) on March 10th from 6:00 until 8:00 for all of those players whose last names start with the letters of A-L.  On, March 11th players whose last names are M-Z will be having tryouts from 6:00 until 8:00.  Try outs will be held at Parkside Middle School in the Gym,  Wear tennis shoes and bring your glove only.  NO BATS ALLOWED OR CLEATS!!!  You can also sign-up at try-outs if you missed the on-line sign-ups and Mc's.  If you are a returning 11 year old player from Majors baseball you do not have to attend try-outs, otherwise all players need to be at try-outs.

Remember, you do need to live within the JSWLL boundaries to play for JSWLL.  For questions on boundaries please call the contact listed above.

We will also be having an opening day this year on Saturday, May 1st.  As I get more information I will post it to the website.

REMINDER - Try outs for the Boys Minor and Major Leagues will be held Wed. March 10th for those whose last name begin with A - L and on Thursday March 111th for those whose last name begins M - Z.  Both dates will be held at the Middle School at Parkside Gymnasium (located at 2400 4th St. Jackson, MI 49203 ) and will be from 6pm - 8pm.  All Minor league boys and first year Major league boys will have to go through the try out process.  If you played in the Major league last year with Jackson Southwest Little League, you do not have to attend try outs.   All players will be drafted onto a team.  Players will be contacted by their coach no later than April 6th, 2010. * Please note :  This tryout will only assess the throwing and fielding skills of the players.  NO BATS OR CLEATS ALLOWED!

Girls Minors and Majors Leagues will be contacted by  their coaches with more information on their season no later than April 6th, 2010.

Coach Pitch Division players will be contacted by their coach no later than April 6th, 2010.

Practices for all divisions will begin in April after you have been contacted by your coach.  Practice days and times are held on the same days of the week that games are normally held on, however it is the coaches discretion as to practice dates and times. 

Regular season games will the week of May 3rd, 2010.

Hello everyone!  We would like to welcome back all of the players, friends, and family of Jackson Southwest Little League.  It's the start of a new year and that means we are gearing up for the 2010 season.  You may registrer your child / children any one of following ways:

1.Our online registrations wil begin on February 1st, 2010 via the link on this website.  Remember is you have any special request or questions to either call or e-mail Pam Bildner.

2. Registrations in person will be held at MC Sporting Goods located in the Jackson Crossing Mall

February 27th 10am to 6pm

February 28th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm

 March 6th  from 10am to 6pm

 and March 7th from 12pm to 4pm

 * Payment is due at the time of registration.  Registration Deadline is March 11th 2010.  Registrations received after March 11th, 2010 will be subject to space availability and a $10.00 late fee.

Eligibilty in any offical Little League is based to on residency and age.  To be eligible for Jackson Southwest Little League:

1.  The player must reside within the boundaries of JSWLL.  Our boundary to the south is Kimmel Rd and north to Michigan  Ave.  Our eastern boundary extends to S. Jackson St and contains portions of Francis St and Browns Lake Rd.  Our western boundary extends to roughly M60 & Reynolds Rd and contains portions of McCain Rd and Reynolds Rd. 

2.  League age is determined by the age of the child on:

     For girls - date of birth as of December 31, 2009

     For boys - date of birth as of April 30, 2010
