Lena Yee wins Honorable Mention from the AVCA
Today, the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) announced 36 players for various levels of "All-American" and 64 players for "Honorable Mention." Jammer alumna Lena Yee, libero for the St. John University Red Storms, received an Honorable Mention. This means Lena was ranked in the top 100 players among approximately 4,000 Division I women players.
Lena Yee played in the "sweet sixteen" for the NCAA championship tournament last week. Unfortunately, her team, the St. John University Red Storms, were defeated in the fifth set by USC. The team's appearance was the first Sweet Sixteen participation for the team, which has played in Division 1 for 14 years. The Red Storms outdug USC throughout the match.
