JAMMERS 17s Win GOLD at Vegas!! February 16, 2009
In a historic first for Jammers VBC, Jammers 17s won the gold medal in 17s Club at the Las Vegas Classic, the country's largest recruiting tournament. The team was first among 104 teams in the division. The team was led by setter Jordan DiNardo who created numerous situations for her hitters with only one blocker up on the opposite side of the net. The team was able to overcome one loss on Day 1 and one loss on Day 2. After an early morning loss on Day 2, the Jammers won seven matches in a row including two challenge matches and three matches in the gold bracket to take it all.
The team has only two members who are true 17 under players. The team members in Vegas are: Jordan DiNardo (setter), Krysta Freitas, Jaymee Kau, Kayzsa Konohia, Brigitte Russo, Nicole Sniffen, Capri Tirrell, Brittany Ulmer, Lavendar Vaka and Liz Vaka. (We will be posting a picture very soon!) Coach Deb said, "This team was amazing. The girls could do no wrong on Day 3."

Jammers Medal at the USAV High Performance Championships
The High Performance Program at USA Volleyball is the "pipeline" for young volleyball athletes who aspire to reach the elite level of their sport and who dream to one day represent the USA on the National Mens or Womens Volleyball Team. Each year the USAV hosts the High Performance Championship Tournament in which teams comprised of players selected in national competitive tryouts for the USAV's High Performance program compete against each other and against American regional select teams and international teams.
Jammer Jordan Meredith earned the "Best Passer" award and one of the coveted positions on the All tournament team at the USAV High Performance Championships -- Junior Women International Division on Saturday, July 27, 2008, in Tucson, Arizona. The Junior Women's Division is "under-20" in international competition. Meredith was an outside hitter for the USA Junior Red team coached by Jon Stevenson from Cal Poly. During her 8 year club "career", Meredith played exclusively in club ball for Jammers. Meredith will play for the Boston College Eagles beginning in August, 2008. Jordan is a product of Jammers' tradition of excellent training in ball handling. The "Best Passer" award was won at the first High Performance Championships by Jammer Lena Yee in 2003. Lena is a senior and libero at St. John's University. In 2007, Lena was named a Division I Honorable Mention All American by the AVCA.
Jammer Chelsey Keoho won a Silver Medal as the libero on the USA Select Red team at the same tournament in the Youth International Division. The USA Select team played "up" in the Youth division which is for under 18s. Keoho was the libero for the Jammers 13s, which were the silver medalists at the 2008 Junior Olympics and was libero for the Jammers 12s which were were the gold medalists at the 2007 Junior Olympics.
Jammer Ashlee Asada was the libero for the USA Select White team which placed 4th in the gold division in the Youth International Division. During the 2008 season, Asada played for Jammers 14s.
Jammer Cara Rosehill was an outside hitter for the Aloha Region "A" team, which won 3rd place in the Bronze bracket in the Youth International Division. During the 2008 season, Rosehill played for Jammers 16s. The Aloha Region teams were a composite of players from different clubs in the region.

Jammers with International Coaches this Week
Jammers had a series of intensive clinics from May 20-26. The players began the week with Chris Gonzalez, formerly assistant coach at Arizona and Long Beach State, who has also coached for the U.S. Men's Olympic team and in the Swiss League. Notably, Chris coached the professional team which had Robyn Ah Mow and Logan Tom. Chris also has coached junior club teams which won gold, silver and bronze teams at Junior Olympics. This is the third time Chris has honored Jammers with a clinic.
Jammers ended the week with an all day clinic with Toshi Yoshida, formerly the U.S. Women's national team coach, who coached the US Women's Olympic team in the 2004 Olympics. (Coincidentally, Coach Toshi also coached Robyn Ah Mow and Logan Tom, who are past and current members of the U. S. Women's National team). Coach Toshi is now coaching the Pioneer Red Wings, a professional women's volleyball team in Japan. Coach Yoshida was accompanied by his wife Shoko, who is an Olympic gold medalist.

Jammers 12s, 13s, and 17s are Qualified for JO's!
April, 2008
Jammers 17s won the Aloha Region national bid for Junior Olympics. This will be sixth consecutive Junior Olympic tournament for the core of the team which have been Jammers since they were 10 or 11 years old.
March 16, 2008
In an exhausting weekend for Jammers VBC, Jammers 12 Black and Jammers 13 Black qualified for the USAV Junior Olympics in the middle of March. Jammers 12 suffered an early morning jitters loss in their first match against Kaulukoa Black. Jammers 12 were successful in their next two matches. Jammers 12 Black played Kaulukoa Black for a second time and gave Kaulukoa Black their first loss of the day. In the double elimination tournament, the two teams were tied and played a sudden death, winner take all one set match to 25. Jammers 12 black showed poise and consistency to win the tournament.
Jammers 13s played without losing a single set in the JO bid tournament for the Aloha Region 13s bid to the Junior Olympics. Because the tournament was double elimination, Jammers 13 black had to defeat OVC Kainoa twice. The core of Jammers 13 black were the gold medalists at the 2007 Junior Olympics in the 12-under division.
Jammers 13 red made it to the semi-finals of the tournament after being one of only two teams with one loss. Unfortunately, their setter tweaked her ankle and was not able to play in the semifinals. Jammers 13 Red ended in 3rd place in the tournament.
Jammers 14s ended in 2nd place after an exhausting tournament. They were undefeated up to the finals of the competition. Because the tournament was double elimination, it was necessary to play Maunalani 14s a second time. Maunalani 14s swept Jammers 14s in their second match of the day. The tied teams then played a sudden death single set match to 25, which was won by Maunalani 14s.
Jammers 17s played in the Colorado Crossroads national qualifier. They won the bronze in 17s Open.
The USAV Junior Olympics will be held in Dallas, TX, beginning at the end of June and extending through early July.

Jammers 12 Red Win the Gold at Ho'oikaika
Our youngest Jammers, Jammers 12 Red, won the gold medal at the 2008 Ho'oikaika tournament in Kauai. Jammers triumphed over twelve teams in the 12-under division. The team is coached by Francis Keeno. For the last 8 years, Jammers has sent its youngest team to this tournament. For many of our players, it is their first time travelling to play volleyball in another venue. Great work Mia, Madison, Roina, Melia, Lyndsey, Emmalani, and Kamalani. A special Mahalo to Coach Francis for once again taking our youngest team to the tournament!
