Semi-professional is a cross between the adult Y-Center type leagues and the professional level leagues.

Everybody involved retains their amateur status, with little to no pay being received. From this aspect it is not any different than the Y-Center or city recreation type leagues. IT IS A HOBBY!

While a hobby, even for ownership, each franchise is a legally registered business that is owned and operated seperate from their league (the TSL).

The estimated cost of doing business for a semi-pro organization is $50,000 +/- per year for soccer.

To offset the costs of doing business each franchise will attract fans to their games, sell tickets for admission, sell advertising & sponsorship options, sell game programs, sell souveirs, sell 50/50 tickets, etc.. From this aspect it is no different than the professional level.
