Issaquah battles but loses in 1st round of the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix Arizona.
Issaquah fought hard but lost to Etiwanda High of Los Angeles 55-48 in the first round of the Nike Tournament of Champions Saturday. Sabrina Norton was Issy's high scorer followed by Blaire Brady and Maddy Pflaumer. Etiwanda was a fast and physical team but Issy dashed to a 15-11 first quarter lead. Etiwanda came back and led 27-22 at the end of the first half. Issy could never complete the comeback, but played hard and played well. Next up is Chandler High from Arizona on Monday at 2pm.

Issaquah suffers 2nd defeat in the Nike Tournament of Champions.
For the second time at the tournament, Issaquah battled a tough opponent only to come up short in a 59-54 loss to Chandler Arizona. Chandler's height proved to be too much for Issy as Chandler featured four players 6'-2" or taller. It was a close game throughout the 2nd half, but Chandler prevailed. Next up in game three is a matchup with another Arizona squad, Tolleson. Keep fighting Issaquah!!

Issaquah picks up a huge win in Arizona
Paced by Blaire Brady's 10 points, Issaquah recorded a great win over Tolleson of Arizona in the Nike Tournamentt of Champions 51-41. Quincey Gibson knocked down 8 points and Sabrina Norton, Morgan Young and Mackenzie Schiltz added 7 each to lead the Issy scoring. Tolleson is the 2 time defending Arizona 5A Division II Champion with 3 returning starters. Issy defense rose to the occasion once again, this time earning the Eagles a victory in the Nike TOC. Issaquah next plays the Florida defending 5A Champions Dillard HS from Ft Lauderdale Wednesday at 12:30PM. Dillard HS Coach Marcia Pinder has been at the helm for 34 years and is 40 wins shy of her 800th career win. Issaquah will need to find ways to score against Dillard and the Issy defense will need to be spectacular. Good Luck Issy!

Issaquah finishes tourney with tough loss, but finishes 14th
Issaquah concluded its run at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix with a 53-45 loss to defending Florida State Champions Dillard of Ft Lauderdale. Issy played without the services of its leading scorer Maddey Pflaumer who was injured early in the game Tuesday against Tolleson. Blaire Brady led the scoring with 16 points. Issy played some elite competition at the tourney and was competitive in every game. The girls will take this experience with them when they resume their conference schedule in January.
