Volunteer Committees:
Additional volunteers are needed and welcomed on Committees! Volunteer a small amount of your time!
REGISTRATION COMMITTEE:
Responsible for advertising our registrations. Distributes flyers to all schools. Has signs, etc. printed to advertise registrations.
PAPERWORK: Committee involvment includes help with registration/ certification documents - collecting, proofreading, scholastic computations, calling parents for missing documents, coordinating with coaches, ensuring our association has all the required documents to register our adults, players and cheerleaders. Also, members of this committee produces calendar of events, flyers as needed for other committees, coaches, and reviews handouts to parents from coaches, etc.
Tina Vars, Chair-Obtains & maintains required permits, produces lists, rosters, & coach information.
Team parents - Assisting with collecting, proofreading, copying, parent and coach coordination, scholastic computations and nominations.
SPONSORSHIPS: Chair: Tracy Perry. Members needed!
This committee is responsible for contacting local businesses for cash or material donations. Also, developing relationships with the community so MYF&C promotes our local businesses.
FUND RAISING: Tag Day: Contact local businesses by letter for permission for our children to stand outside their business to collect donations. Coordinate with each team on assigning teams/children to designated times and locations for donation collections. Prepare lists, sign-up and assignments and distribute to coaches. Must be present for team check-in to handout jerseys for kids to wear and maintain lists and assignments. Send thank you letters to businesses. This committee requires more than one person.
Car Washes: - Coordinate with local business to schedule dates for car washes. Burger King, W. Main Road has been very generous in the past. Prepare flyers for advertisement and to parents. Coordinate with teams for time and day assignments.
Other committees may be established depending on type of fund-raising. A committee is needed to research different types of beneficial, worthwhile fund-raising events.
SPECIAL EVENTS: Awards: Research information on types of trophies or other awards. Work with scholastic committee on awards. Voting member of scholarship fund for high school seniors.
Banquet: Coordinate with Hyatt for menu, price, logistics and schedules. Tina Vars, Chair.
Photos: Coordinate with photographer for dates, team assignments and act as a liaison for our association. Has authority to arrange a deal for the utmost benefit of parents and our association. Provide all information for parents and coaches in the form of flyer notification, verbal, phone calls, etc.
Field/Game Management: Recruit and coordinate volunteers for set up and break down of the field for home games. Ensure volunteers are assigned for MPR, chains, announcer, scorekeeper and gate. Publish a schedule of assignments. Notify/remind volunteers of assignments.
Concession Stand: Concession Manager: Donna Ennis
Purchase of food and all items for the concession stand. Recruits and assigns volunteers to work at each home game. Maintains schedule of assignments to be posted in the stand. Has signatory authority on concession checking account. Provides financial reports to our board.
Help in kitchen during games and other assistance.
Transportation:Researches and schedules all bus transportation for cheer competition, football play-offs and any other special transportation required.
PARENT & ATHLETE INFO: This is usually the team parent who is a liaison for coaches and parents of a specific team. Along with the head coach, can act as the "voice" of the team, notifying our board of any recommendations or concerns from parents. In conjunction with the head coach and review of the paperwork committee, distributes team information/handouts to parents. Responsible for coordinating parents of the team for volunteer assignments such as concession stand, home game assistance, snacks, oranges, etc.
