Tryout Information  

Club Overview 

The ISC Storm Soccer Club, formed in 1998, is a South Dayton based soccer club that is committed to providing a positive select soccer program to boys and girls from ages 8 to 19. All teams play in competitive divisions of the Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association (MVYSA). These leagues host some of the finest teams in the Central and Southern Ohio areas. All teams are coached by licensed coaches and are assigned a USYSA licensed team trainer and a USYSA licensed goal keeper trainer. 

Though we are a smaller club, compared to others in the Dayton area, we have been successful in increasing our presence in the MVYSA league by focusing on player development and maintaining team continuity from year to year. Player’s develop their individual skills through out the year with the use of licensed trainers.  Each team retains its player’s year on year to build team dynamics. This combination has provided a solid base for players and teams to become very competitive at both the individual and team level. 

In 2008 ISC Storm instituted a two tier program where teams can select the level of play they plan to compete during the season. The two categories are competitive or premier. The coaches along with the club’s trainers build a training program to support their decision. Players have the opportunity to establish their individual goals regarding the level of play they wish to achieve.  Players have the opportunity to request movement between competitive or premier teams if the opportunity exists based upon their skill set.  The trainers assist in player evaluations to ensure the player can successfully compete at the requested level or identify training needs to assist the player to achieve their goals

Spring Tryout Process 

With the 2009/2010 season in progress we will entertain holding tryouts for NON Carded MVYSA players by inviting prospective players to attend a team training sessions.  Prospective players will participate in a live training session that will allow the coaches to evaluate the prospective player’s skills and also allow the prospective player the opportunity to mingle with the current team members to determine if they would feel comfortable with the team. Coaches will provide feedback at the end of that session regarding the outcome of the tryout.

• U9/U10 Boys
• U10 Boys Premier
• U14 Boys
• U18 Girls  
• If enough interest in an age group we will consider creating a team,contact if interested 

We are also accepting whole or partial teams to the Club as well. Please contact us if you wish to bring a team to the club or would be willing to start a new team.  The Club Director will discuss with you the club philosophy, training expectations, and fee structure.  The club director and or the club training director will also be more than glad to meet with your parents for an information session to discuss the club and answer any questions you or your parents may have.  Club contact information can be found below.

Coaching Opportunities

Our coaches at the younger age groups are typically parents/ volunteers with Soccer experience. Parents, would you like to coach your son’s or daughters’ team?    We will provide coach training and mentoring as well as assistance in obtaining your coaches license. Think it over, if you are going to be at the game anyways, why not coach.

U09 - Born between Aug 1, 2000 and July 31, 2001
U10 - Born between Aug 1, 1999 and July 31, 2000
U11 - Born between Aug 1, 1998 and July 31, 1999
U12 - Born between Aug 1, 1997 and July 31, 1998
