Fall programs in full swing
Reports are coming in from the North of town that a whole lot of kids are having a whole lot of fun!!
Visit the Foreseasons Dome on any given Saturday morning and you will see a host of parents, wrapped in winter jackets, sipping on hot coffee, surrounded by a flurry of action and color..... It's those K through 4th grade indoor soccer players!! They're whooping it up with the ISA coaches and learning all kinds of new skills and fun games.
If you've never attended one of these sessions, you should. Check out Matt Stucke running his favorite "Marines" drill!! or Crystal Schmidt with her "Red light, Green light" exercise... The kids love it!
This Fall we are also seeing one of our largest sign ups in the boys 9th through 12th grade developmental program. I think players and coaches are realizing what a huge advantage indoor play can give them; Developing awesome technical skills and close ball control. It is great to watch these young guys working on their moves and deception plays.
So things are shaping up nicely and the Winter competitive leagues will be signing up real soon too. Registration forms are getting mailed out this week and will also be available from Parks and Rec. offices at the Dome and on Front Street. Of course, you can download the forms right here, from our "HANDOUTS" page.
This year, each competitive player will be getting an official USFF player card to be used on each league night. This will also get them into any Futsal sanctioned tournament anywhere in the country. So be sure and send in the correct information including player pictures and copies of your birth certificate or drivers licence.

H&L Clinic Foundation donation
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! to The Heart and Lung Clinic Foundation and Karen Hagel, for the fantastic donation they made to ISA.
Our developmental players will be sporting brand new uniforms this season, thanks to the support of Heart and Lung Clinic Foundation.
We are always trying to improve our programs at ISA but that takes resources of all kinds. We have a tremendous board of dedicated individuals who donate large amounts of time to make things happen. But we have to provide material things too, and that can be a real challenge.
Thankfully we live in a great community where organizations, such as H&L step forward and show how much they care.
So play proudly in your soccer shirts this Fall; They were supplied by a caring organization who want to see you have a great time and a fun experience.
Thank you Karen and H&L Clinic Foundation.

Radical changes
It's a very busy time for your trusty board members right now! Fall programs kick off this weekend and we will see lots of new, shiny faces tearing around the Dome! ...can't wait. But there are lots of administrative details that have to be ironed out each year, as the organization grows and matures.
It became apparent to us this year, that we needed to provide a more diversified mix of competitive programs for the players. We have decided to remix our age groups to provide competitive leagues for 10 and 11 year olds, as a coed program. This is something real new to me, but my fellow board members assure me that this will be an exciting and challenging league for our 4th and 5th graders.
Our next highest age grouping will be separate leagues for our 12 and 13 year old boys and girls. This, I know, will be a very exciting group! We have some unbelievable talent in our community at this level.
Then in our "High school/college leagues, we will include 14 year olds. This will be for both boys and girls.
The other radical change we have made is in our evening time slots. It was apparent that we were missing out on potential sign-ups from youngsters on Wednesday evenings, due to city-wide activities. In an effort to provide more access for these youngsters, we have eliminated competitive play from Wednesday evenings and shifted these programs to Monday.
So there we have it. Based on a lot of input from parents, coaches and our own observations, we have set up a new Winter schedule. Download copies of the "New Winter Schedule" from our "Handouts" section. We hope you like the new formats and will join us in support of all our fine players.
If you have any comments on this article please drop me a line.
